Anyone ever have any fitment issues with the AWE resonated touring where the downpipe coupler attached to the mid pipe? Everything I’ve read states it’s suppose to just slide over the downpipe outlet but cannot for the life of me get mine to slip over.. Did I just get unlucky and get a faulty coupler? Any insights is appreciated!

Some pictures would be really helpful. Please take picture of the whole exhaust and mounting points. Because most likely it's one of those. And yes it is supposed to slide over with a bit of fighting with it a bit lol.

This is the precise piece I’m referring to. Everything else fits as it should. But this coupler is literally the exact same sizing as the OEM DP. Just wondering if this is to be expected or if something isn’t right

I'm assuming you're attaching to an OEM downpipe. The smaller end of the adapter should fit over the downpipe. If my memory serves me right, it took some finesse to get it on there. Try slipping part of the adapter at an angle to help you pry open the rest of it and use turning motion to get the rest in.

A bit ridiculous for a “fitment guarantee” product, no? Plus there’s really no way to bend it without jacking up all to hell

Funny, I bought an AWE setup before injen and it fit like shit with pipes lining up like this. The tab under the car was bent and one of the exhaust hangers was way off. Their customer service was sub par as well. Injen bolted up perfect the first time with no issues on both the OEM and AA downpipe.

Yeah…this is some ass fitment.. which is surprising because a lot of guys run these exhaust systems

Take it to a muffler shop and they can widen it a bit.
I’m thinking this is likely going to be my only saving grace. Everything around me is closed til Monday so I’m going try a few more things before I take it there. Pretty pathetic that a $2400 exhaust has ass fitment. Such is life tho lol

It looks like it fits fine. That’s why there’s slits in the coupler. Bend the slits a little bit and pound the coupler on. It’s intentionally tight to prevent exhaust leaks..

If it’s really giving you shit use an exhaust pipe expander, some heat, and some muscle. Expand it out a 16th or so of an inch.

If that’s still not enough, then muffler shop.

@DHarkKnight10 bro not everything is going to go smoothly. I helped a buddy with an RK exhaust and I used my largest size channel locks, put the head inside and expanded it that way. Gonna take some muscle bud…

I would argue elbow grease would do the trick, but it would be a pain in the ass. If you don't want to risk it, take it to a muffler shop. Yes it is unfortunate, but I don't see it as that big of a problem.
