Toyota just emailed me reminding me about the 1 month inspection which got me thinking.

Beyond the initial inspection who trusts Toyota to service this car?

The one month inspection is a bit of a wank from what I can tell. I'm going to request an oil change (at my expense no doubt) and also tell them to NOT wash my car. From what my dealer said, it's literally a car wash and a quick glance to make sure shit isn't falling apart.

Good time to get any delivery issues knocked on the head too I guess.

Don’t do it! Sounds like it’s the same experience everywhere.

I went once. Only to be told, we don’t have a tech, come back for a tech, then came back & the tech said they can touch a non spec car. I have a track alignment and SPL parts.

Bottomline, I now have a great independent BMW mechanic. My ownership experience 1000% better ever since.

Ended up cancelling my order and picked up a 2019 in black with 23,000km for 71k, $$ I saved will be put to good use on mods

I've been doing some Bimmercode coding and I noticed that my MY23 head unit seems to have been pre-coded with the ability to increase/decrease its brightness - I'm positive I didn't code it in.

Has anyone else noticed this?

You can increase/decrease from stock. Are you talking about going above stock brightness?

Well I saw a brightness slider in the menu settings. I thought this used to have to be coded via Bimmercode?

No that was just to make it more brighter/ unlocking more brightness.

Weird. I honestly don't have a problem with it as it is so I thought maybe they had changed the coding from the factory. Maybe its a bit like the poor audio or the invisibility of the HUD wearing polarized sunglasses: Highly over exaggerated!

I turned my HUD brightness all the way up over stock. Without sunglasses it’s easy as hell to see. But for me I can notice it if I move my head with sunglasses on. No biggie. I just don’t notice it with my sunglasses on at the angle where I like to sit.

They will top up your washer fluid, do your tyres pressures, a battery test, and put a new service sticker on. An apprentice will probably work on it. It exists to give you your first dealership experience to entice you to keep coming back, and also to sort out any issues you’re having with the car early on. After working at a dealership for 6 years I’m terrified to send my supra there, will try and find an experienced enthusiast workshop to do it all and supply all genuine parts myself.

It exists to give you your first dealership experience to entice you to keep coming back, and also to sort out any issues you’re having with the car early on. After working at a dealership for 6 years I’m terrified to send my supra there, will try and find an experienced enthusiast workshop to do it all and supply all genuine parts myself.

Sad but true. You are not alone. After a lifetime in Aviation, automotive and motorcycle maintenance and engineering and with just about every relative and friend I have also involved in those worlds there are things and events I just can't unsee or unexperience.
