we dont have 98 ron from pumps,

Uk we have 95 and 97 to 99 Ron from the pump also we have higher from shell in random areas

i've seen that yes, there's probably some cars at 550-600whp that would have had engine failure too, it can happen at any time and any power figure.

how's the unopened block now?

it held up fine after 12 months and a few drag days.
but I then decided to change direction and built the motor and with a precision turbo. just waiting on new fuel system and will then crank it up.
