Just installed jb4, rn only a hks intake but the burble is gone. Only running map 2. Sport mode is on but no burble. Did my jb4 disable it?

how many miles have you driven with the JB4 installed? I don't beleive the JB4 can directly adjust anything that would control timing/burbles.

I am by no means an expert, maybe the ECU is getting used to the different parameters? When I first installed my JB4, the first drive or two the car felt sluggish under like 10mph. But it's fine now.

Iā€™ve been running JB4 w/ map 6 by @Jesse DaBears and map 0 (disabled) for the past few months. Burbles are present. Not sure the exhaust valve has anything to do with it. Maybe remove the JB4 and see what happens. If it doesnā€™t change, take it to the dealer. Or, of you bought used, it might be tuned?

Hopefully this helps but you can change the setting by holding down BC and the blinkers will hold for a sec and then flash.

what is BC? How does this have anything to do with JB4?

Cause this can cause your exhaust flap to stay closed

BC is on your left stock

This may not solve your issue but who knows

I dont think so. I had a jb4 for a while it's normal, the burbles are not that aggressive. I'm guessing fuel burns better with map 2, as in fuel burns in the engine more rather than in the exhaust cuz that's how you get pops and bangs. Just a guess, but it's normal nothing to be worried about. Go back to map 0, and it will go back to normal.

Burble happens because the DME is programmed to add fuel and reduce timing ("fuel dump on timing retard") when the user lets off the throttle. This allows unburnt fuel to escape the engine and detonate on the hot exhaust components near the engine. It's not about better or cleaner fuel burn. The burble on decel is deliberate, artificial, and controllable.

If burble is gone, it's because something about the JB4 is overriding this default behavior of the DME.

Itā€™s probably the exhaust flap. It greatly reduces burble when closed. I hardly hear mine when closed.

JB4 can control it in 3 ways
1. Always closed
2. Always open
3. Open only in Sport

You can adjust the setting in two ways

First Way:
On your turn signal stock - press and hold the ā€œBCā€ button until the turn signal flashes. A left turn signal = always closed. A right turn signal = always open. Both Turn signals = open only during sport mode (make sure youā€™re not in sport mode or itā€™ll get confused it seems). Repeat the process until you are on the desired setting. (Picture 1).

Second Way (pic 2/3):
Go into JB4 App while connected to the car
Press and hold down on a gauge you donā€™t use.
A list of other gauges will appear. Select ā€œCANFlapā€
Pressing the this gauge while connected to the car will have the same effect as the BC button, similarly with Left, Right, and Both Flashes.

Hope this helps.

That is some GI Joe shit. Didnā€™t know you could control the bubble gut that way.
Iā€™m with with ya! Itā€™s all Greek to meā€¦ Mine burbles with sport mode on, have Jesse tune, love it. Can turn it off or on. But doesnā€™t matter if the JB4 is on or not - still burbles.
