Also I’m probably gonna list my intake and inlet for 525 plus shipping whenever my arma gets here hopefully soon ECS has shit customer service im pretty upset with them. Worst case you could buy mine for a discount new they are 470 for the intake and 150 for the inlet plus tax. If you don’t like it sell it and recoup the money you should be able to get the same money for it or you like it and you got a discount.
lmao just DM'd you. delete this, i call dibs 10000% :spaz:

The flutter you're hearing when we let off the throttle is the wastegate releasing the excess pressure. The DME uses a combination of the throttle plate, valve lift, & wastegate as the oem pressure relief. So the "trapped air" is able to still flow forward rather than surging back into the compressor.
I thought wastegates only dumped exhaust gas into the exhaust.. what a bov would be releasing would be the pressurized air going towards the throttle body... When the throttle closes there would be the pressurized air in the intake tube that would then need to bleed off, hence the bov .. but if we don't have one, yet, make bov sounds... Dafuck? Haha. . would love to read about the other part you talk about with the throttle plate and intake valves doing some voodoo to accept additional air whilst also some how making it sound like that air is evacuating to atmosphere.. I truly don't get it and want to understand 🤪

Tbh I'm mostly quoting another post on here that described how it worked. Other modern engines also do this too though. The VR30 in the q60 had a similar pressure relief that would keep the throttle body and wastegate slightly open open on decel, but they changed it to a recirc bov on the new Z because it was crudely implemented and many people had complaints about it.

You are correct, wastegate is exhaust gases, not compressed air. The flutter is the air hitting the throttle plate.

If one were so inclined to want to know more about how that system works.. got any Google search terms that might pull back the right results? Inquisitive mind

I’m slapping a Vader pic (custom from wife’s cricket) on my armaspeed intake box. I hear it every time I drive the Supra whether widows up or down, side streets or highway.

So whats louder this or mst v2
Second that, I wanna know the loudest intake as well. Was planning on MST v2 but I have not seen a video where that intake sounds as loud as this video.

Not sure how many are as dumb as I am for owning both, the Arma might be a little louder? Barely? But the fit is horrible. MST is cheaper as well. Get the best intake for the car IMO, get the MST. Waiting to hear back from Armaspeed about the crap fitment on mine! Crickets on my end

MST is louder since its an open intake, the MAD intake is louder than either option
