The entire state isn't bad. Ventura may be, though. I've had very little run in with PD. One was my fault. I love this state, so it's worth it for me.

Unless you are a hard-core conservative. They are convinced CA (KA? LOL) is a communist state ? Not necessarily the person you quoted, but in general.
I'm not a stickler. Just pointing out his quirks since he doesn't like Made in China parts.

Agreed, to a point. I don't know if it's worth driving around without a muffler. There's a balance there.
I bought this car because It's fast enough on track, stock. I whoop on just about anyone who isn't basically a professional or in a car that is just obviously going to be faster. I don't worry about the ref, I don't worry about having my hood popped. I have zero law enforcement issues. At all. I don't even worry about warranty. No stress. Zero. Zip.
This thread is exactly why.
Good luck. I used to have to deal with this, back in my Honda days. It ain't fun :(
Best post in the thread. People buy a car with ample capability that far exceeds their ability to extract that performance. Then fk it up completely as if its 12$ used Shitebox. Drive and enjoy what you have. Why do you need the hassle of the law or a dealer denying your fkn warranty after a year. You are not at all making the car better. Maybe you are if you are an engineeer and are tracking the machine to 9 tenths on a controlled environment. Best mod EVER = Driver training and good automotive tech and mechanical education. GET SOME! :)

I hear ya, I’ve been for 6 months and I love it here already. I just wish they would take it easy with automotive people. Cheers

Its honestly not as bad out here as everyone makes it. Just dont drive like an idiot and the cops will leave you alone. From what I have seen, they mostly target the clapped out ricers.

Yep. What @Evolution says. Most of the people I see getting in trouble drive like idiots, run around with straight pipes, etc.
I am a grown ass man and have only had a couple run-ins. Both of mine have been with CHP so that explains that lol
I have moved away to other states and keep coming back to California. Fresno, specifically. My house is cheap, cost of living is relatively cheap. I can drive a couple hours and be at the state capitol, the beach, the desert, one of the best mountain ranges in the country. I can go to San Diego, Mexico, Las Vegas. I can fly internationally.
Every weekend I am doing stuff that can mostly only be done in the state, or at least it's a little bit easier.
Also, there are race tracks everywhere! And good ones lol
What's expensive to stay in California and the politics can be frustrating if you pay attention to that kind of thing. Still, I am not leaving. It's awesome here.

Bunch of woke communist libertarian neo-marxist socialist satanist authoritarian anarcho-syndicalists! Did I miss any? I feel like I missed some.
Yes, ditto on that! Hopefully the next earthquake will make it an island in the pacific!? then Slick Slimy Newsome can become president of his new country ?

To be fair, and I say this as a past member of the Honda community, some cars are painfully slow. One way to have fun with him is to at least have them make enough noise so you feel like you're going fast. I'm not going to lie, it is a lot of fun screaming down the road and holding a gear long enough to hear the VTEC crossover and hear the thing screaming at 8,000 RPMs.
That being said, mine were always tempered with a turbocharger, a resonator, and a straight through muffler in the back. Definitely did not sound ricey.

Yes man i totally agree with you I travel for work and have lived in many states. My girlfriend and I just keep coming back to CA. There are just so many great things about it. It seems like folks just love to hate on CA for some reason and this is coming from an ex-Floridian of 20 years lmfao.

Most of the people I know that bag on CA do so because one or more of:
A. They have never lived here.
B. They live here but have never lived anywhere else.
C. They lived here, moved away, regret it, refuse to admit they made a mistake.
The only people I know that have moved and are happy are people who are home bodies. In that case, may as well live in Kentucky or something. Doesn't matter where you live, if you never leave the house.

You forgot - D. "California, the land of fruits and nuts"

(not sure if this post is against forum rules)

California probably has the best car culture of any US state

And? What about it? I’d rather live in a free state (so far) then a state like Kalifornia!
