Hey everyone, recently had codes 140510 and 14000A pop up on my EcuTek. Happens during startup and usually only happens when the cars sat for a couple hours. Also cylinder 5 had 51 misfires this morning on startup. Anyone had these codes before and knows the solution to this? Car has downpipe, pure 800, port injection, and tune.

Also no misfires when driving, only on startup.

Compression check and leak down.

That many misfires isn't great.
Going to try to get the car in the shop this weekend. Only happens on startup though, none when driving normally or pushing it

Have you checked your plugs?
That's what I'd do but misfires on DI engines are common esp during cold starts. The other issue may be a less than stellar injector on #5 that requires cleaning. You could try some injector cleaner through it but it's not really a big issue unless it's throwing a CEL. The ECU has a threshold for misfires and ignores them unless they pass the threshold.
Basically if it's not throwing a CEL then it's not an issue. You can chase it down and try and improve it I guess. Up to you.

Phil

Remember- if you pull out the DI injectors, you absolutely -have- to replace the seals. Which isn't exactly a super easy task. If you smoosh an injector seal, even a little bit, you'll leak compression.

What was your solution? I have this same exact issue.

FYI -- I have some misfires being shown as well, but as lucky phil mentioned about DI engines have some misfires here and there. The Supra (other other B58 BMW's), will only throw a CEL if the threshold of misfires surpasses what's not normal for the B58.

I noticed mine after installing a catless DP and exhaust. I was constantly in bimmerlink and it'd show a misfire here and there but no CEL (for misfiring) ever popped up.

had one of my homies supra blow up due to this and he got his DI tested. injector 6 was flowing way less than the other 5. he is also tuned by payne. it might be worth it to get your DI cleaned every so often. I've also heard stories of some high hp supras having the same issues too not common enough to be talked about ig
