Just purchased a 23 3.0P AT. $62.5 +4 in warranties.

Got a permaplate warranty and they got some permanent staining done to the gauge and hvac controls.

Dealer would not budge on fixing their mistake after sending photos and confirmation from another toyota, and taking it to a detailer on toyota's dime.

Even after everyone confirming it was permanently damaged, the dealer agreed to pay the damages, a day before my scheduled service that they already confirmed with my local toyota, THEY PULLED OUT XD. They then were saying “we’ll we dont know if you cleaned it and did that.” I sent them day of purchase photos showing the gauge waxy and spots all over it. They said “I know the permaplate looks spotty but it has to soak for 5 days and then clean it. On the 5th day I went to wipe off and this happened.

Detailer ended up paying $4,300 in parts, labor, rental.

Next it’s a whole ordeal with getting an update for the car because the new cluster was a more recent ISTA software.

Took 3 weeks of the car having to sit at my local toyota bc the odometer. I just got it back 2 days ago only while just buying on aug26th, this is stooopid.

Now it’s fixed and replaced as you can see, now I have a buzzing everytime I accelerate hahaha. Listen at :05 & :18

Znnniiiiiiiiii, soo annoying. I thought it was the infotainment screen but it’s not. At any point my rpms go higher it buzzes from the very front of the dash only in sport mode.

Have an appointment Monday morning. Other than this bs, 10/10 experience LOL

Dealers get real squirrelly on any vehicle damage, you have to be very cautious and document identified damage well. If any of my vehicles spend time unsupervised at a dealer, I do a thorough walk around and inspect for damages inside and out before I take back possession of the car.

Learned a lot from this and I just take photos and videos of everything now and Luckily I took a lot of photos & vids day of purchase which got me covered in this situation. The detailer even tried to message me insinuating I did something and I didn’t respond to it.

I had to get a lawyer once with a dealer. The lawyer absolutely annihilated them. It was very satisfying. They are scum of the earth. Good call on not responding to them saying you did something.

Dude fr! I’m still gonna bust their balls about all the inconvenience and I need to be compensated accordingly.

Good on the lawyer because if I had to go back to Tennessee for a small claims court I would and they would have had to pay more. What a joke.

Glad you got your cluster sussed.
let me know about the noise as I have the same but upon harder acceleration. It sounds like it comes from behind the monitor?

If its around screen area. It's poor fitment and rattle. Only way to really fix it pull pieces and put foam or something behind it. I had to basically press on it on my last highway drive.

I use to work at a dealership and sold all sorts of this crap and I’d sell rust proofing and they would cake the strut towers with a foam that hardened and covered all the creases etc.The fabric protection would stain dashes and leather & cloth seats. I always said I would never put that crap on my own car but sold it because it’s a sales money maker. Stay away from all these gimmicks.

Sorry you had this
experience, I’d be nauseated from this experience.

I tested it again and its actually not the screen. Also it only happens in sport mode at high rpm. Sound coming from the very front center of dash closest to the window.

My only idea is however the wires were connected for the hvac control & gauge is now something is loose up there due to something and now it rattles, foam or something alike is probably how to solve it

If you turn off ASD, you won't hear that again. The vibration is coming from the speaker behind the screen, due to ASD. Car's going to be quieter in the cabin without ASD, but I think it's worth it. You get better music quality, less fake droning, and purely raw engine noise.

This noise used to happen in my car, and then it got worse after I installed the catless dp. The resonance from the downpipe's drone, plus the ASD caused that exact same noise at higher frequencies. It fully went away after turning off ASD

I would hope this was the case but the vibrations werent happening until after the cluster & hvac head unit was replaced.

You could always just unplug the ASD module and test it out. Should take just a few minutes to unplug it and test it

Toyota dealerships are always a piece of shit. Do everything in their power to not help the customer. Huge difference in going with a brand like Toyota over one of the luxury brands, BMW, Mercedes, etc

Reason number 152(?) I'll never buy another Toyota

Well I do have service today and may ask them to turn it off if they can from the ISTA software & if they are having trouble I’ll ask them to unplug that specifically bc I would never want that sound bs anyway.
