I had a verified-good donor ECU cloned at Femto, and then bench unlocked without any issues. Today I installed my Ecutek license onto it and successfully flashed a stock rom file, everything went just fine start to finish. Unfortunately the car will only crank and not start. My DTC's are:

1B2008: - EWS manipulation protection: reply implausible
216118: - DFC_BMW_SDC_EWS_LOCK

Clearly an electronic immobilizer issue preventing the car from starting. Why is it always me??? Anyways, I'm having a pretty tough time finding good information about this, let alone a path to fix or workaround. If somebody has gone through this or can point me in the right direction I thank you in advance!

No. Is that a step everybody with a cloned DME needs to do? Is it as simple as that?

Got my obd2 to Enet cable and Femto will be helping me Monday morning. Thanks a ton for the quick solution, I emailed femto the moment I read your reply. It’s frustrating to have missed this step completely…despite my own research attempts and pleading with vendors incessantly to explain the ENTIRE process. 1 more step, 1 more step. Hopefully this is it, I gotta get this thing put together, the snow melted months ago!
