Haha, I was pretty paranoid as well with burnt tips, but I've had my exhaust on for a couple years now and it's been fine. My car is still quiet in normal mode.
I think it’s just been my luck where I live. I’m ok going back to stock oem exhaust because it can handle 600hp or so and I ain’t going over that level anytime soon. I’ll sell the ARK which barely has 2k or so miles on it in mint condition, and use that money I make back for Femto.

Going green is beneficial for a variety of reasons. Outside of performance, the average commuter doesn't need ICE. I'd have gotten an EV for my daily if they weren't more expensive than what I eventually got.

I've never read anything about Solar affecting PG&E, and even then that's private corporation's doing. Seems like people love to blame the generic "California" for problems that are just the result of plain old capitalism and corporate profits. Things will likely never get cheaper. Capitalism is based on supply and demand and more EVs = more demand for electricity.
Solar absolutely affects power companies. If you are producing good solar power (even a 10kw array), and even if you dont have an inverter and battery to save it for yourself, you are sending back power to the grid and they pay you for it. Therefore knocking down your normal power bill significantly. But if everyone has solar battery or not, and doesnt use grid power or gives back to grid, guess who loses money... Power companies. Why do you think its illegal to go off grid in most places? Its been lobbied by power companies.

Its actually the whole reason they are trying to lobby a income based flat fee. The more people that go to solar/battery w/ EV the worse off they become.

Im involved in energy management. If you built a 10kw/h solar array with 40-80 kw/h batteries, you could power your house and car for free as long as you stay under 1200-2400 kw/h per month in usage which is very easy to do. And any excess power companies would have to pay you for. The Power companies do not want that. They lose if you do that

You think fuel companies want to lose profits or governments will ever let tax dollars go away? hell no, they will keep adding more fees or taxes as time goes on. Everytime they push for a new tax or fee, or even a program change its going to hurt the consumer. EVERY SINGLE TIME

Another thought on if they get rid of the gas tax and why it will never happen. Tourism and out of state vehicles. If you remove gas tax in lieu of a reported annual mileage tax, only California residents pay for it. Anyone out of state will avoid it and benefit. Obviously that would harm California tax budget overall and would never happen. Think about the commercial semi's that pump at the station that are not registered in cali. Heck i dont even register my cars in my state because its absurd what they charge per year for newer vehicles (~$1000+/yr per vehicle). I guess you could scan IDs at the pump to remove the tax but the logistics to build the software will be expensive and timely. And then you get into surveillance state bs

I think what, 20% of the population has solar? And seems like the adoption rate has slowed significantly since they started reducing payouts for energy returned to the grid...

But again, private corporations charging more and more to the consumer is just capitalism. That's not unique to California, but for some reason, people love claiming it's a Commie state for ::checks notes:: Capitalism lol.

At any rate and back on topic, I''ve lived in California my whole life, had modified cars for almost 20 years, never had to deal with State Ref.

Some claim it’s getting more expensive to live there. That may or may not be true. It’s a beautiful state regardless and to each their own. I’m not a fan of bigger government or more control in their hands. They seem to be really bad at managing money and projects that private companies do much better. And I fully agree, that doesn’t make the people that live there commies. But reminding those elected they work for you never hurts. Otherwise they tend to go further and further down the power and spending rabbit hole.
