Pretty badThis whole comment section is filled with toxicity. I hope people come around but sheesh, change is an ugly thing to witness
- Chronic MKIV mania. Please see a specialist. My advice for Toyota, go back and really truly listen to the voice of the MkIV.
I'm open to any dialogue concerning the new Supra negative or positive. The issue here is you haven't driven it, I haven't driven, none of those negative commenters haven't driven it, but yet you and them claim to know EVERYTHING about it already?Unfortunately this site is a bit of a social odd-bubble, with the majority of people on here being sympathetic to the MkV, and a good further portion being died-in-the-wool rose goggle fanboys. So the conversation here is skewed and imbalanced in its overall viewpoint compared to almost all other sites discussing the car. Its very hard to have an opposing conversation here that doesn't degrade into instinctive-emotion based responses.
*I only quote you for posterity, since you have a tendency of going back and deleting your long-windedA simple truth is, you cant argue with the majority - its the basis of your democracy.
If everyone in the world is saying one thing, and you disagree with them, then its simple - your wrong, regardless of any truths or injustices you may hold. Your wrong, your the odd one out. The Majority always rules.
In this case, they (the vast majority of the internet) has condemned the MkV on a vast array of fronts.
-They are the Majority, they are the representative viewpoint on the car.
-They have very significant concerns over almost all aspects of the car, none of which have had remotely suitable answers from appropriate respondents.
-If they say its Not deserving of the name, then its not deserving of the name.
-if they say its too expensive, its too expensive.
-if they say its a cash grab, then its cash grab.
-if they say its a Z4 then its a Z4.
-If they say its got a problem with this or that, or whatever, then it HAS a problem with this that or whatever.
-If they say its a failure, its a failure.
You can argue all you like at how unfair that is, how wrong it is, how incorrect they are, how they all have "elitist attitudes", but that's the way it is.
Toyota Failed to win over the Majority with this Car. They continue to pit themselves against the majority, and democracy is punishing them for it.

My advice for Toyota, go back and really truly listen to the voice of the MkIV. I expect it would use this quote if it could talk.
"Learn from me. I wasn't the best because I killed quickly. I was the best because the crowd loved me. Win the crowd. And you will win your freedom."
I disagree entirely with the premise that the negative opinions are the voice of the majority. I would argue that it's the typical vocal minority that has defined the internet for quite some time now, specifically anything car related.
The New Civic Type R, NSX, R35, and more all had a ton of backlash when they were released. The 86 was also a dumpster fire; the diehard AE86 guys ate it alive and others ran with the same comments until people like Clarkson and Harris managed to somewhat turn things around. I will concede that Toyota should have had far more of a hand in the development of this car given the nameplate and what it means to people, but it is what it is and even if it was like the 86 or perhaps entirely Toyota people would still complain ("it's too heavy, not powerful enough, the mirrors are ugly, it has fake vents, it's too expensive" etc — none of that would be any different).
