Aside from the wheelbase, the Mk4 and Mk5 are very close to each other dimension wise.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, if the supra was going to be made this small and with this suspension arrangement, they shoulda just made a unified 86 gen2 platform with Subaru, and stuck their turbo v6 in it.

hmm, so lemme understand..MKV is supposed to be more of a sports car package than its predecessor.....yet it has no stick...

...should also compare CoG since it is apparently a big deal now, the F/R weight ratio, size of wheels/tires and interior space ^^

That would have been awesome for the 86, since it would benefit from the structure of the much more expensive Supra. I don't see that making the Supra a convincing proposal though, except maybe it would benefit from weight reduction. Better to be the lowest priced house on an expensive street than the highest priced house on a cheap street, if you see my analogy.
Regards to the Toyota 2000 GT, I have an amazing memory of seeing one in the Toronto area parked on the street where I was delivering the Sunday newspapers in my early to mid teens around 78 or 79. It was white coloured and said Toyota on it and had a long nose with retracted headlights and resembled a Jag E Type from the late 60's. I was able to name virtually every automobile I saw on the road as a kid and did a mental snapshot of that one while out bike riding though I had no idea what it's rarity was.
