Hmm.. So you use the My BMW app with your Supra after the dealer did some voodoo behind the scenes?I am one of the few that can use the BMW iphone app to locate my car, honk the horn, look at the miles, lock or unlock the doors. So I guess it’s nice. But the dealer had to set it up before hand. Unlock or do something. Then use the BMW Supra only version app.
I called for help on my 1st Supra and Toyota didn’t know how to set it up. They had me download the wrong app, then found out the dealer needed to setup the location service before I took delivery, and the list goes on. I gave up. On that particular car.
So be proactive like that weird license plate y’all have up front. Tell them to turn on location services and activate the “Supra” app. Maybe they’ll understand how to set you up better there.
Sorry I wasn’t more specific.Hmm.. So you use the My BMW app with your Supra after the dealer did some voodoo behind the scenes?
Interesting!
Also, is there a reason you chose not to use the Toyota app as you are in the US?
Thanks. Unfortunately that app isn't available here. I was hoping maybe we could trick the BMW app which is available, into working with our Supras. Probably not but I thought I'd see if it had been done.I just looked on my phone and it’s called: Toyota Supra Connect. It’s a BMW app with the Toyota name, I was told. It’s the only one that worked.
How did you go with this? Any joy? Thanks. Unfortunately that app isn't available here. I was hoping maybe we could trick the BMW app which is available, into working with our Supras. Probably not but I thought I'd see if it had been done.
It works fine but is for the most part useless. Doesn't really do much other than what you just stated and the climate control thing I'm not even sure how that works or if the AC can even turn on without the vehicle ignition being turned on. I guess it's good for checking fuel level if you can't remember where it was at when you parked it and getting current mileage without going to the car?sorry to dredge up an old Thread - but being a new owner - i was curious if all the kinks have been worked out. i just downloaded it on iphone, shows fuel, climate controls, location. seems OK thus far.
Same thing I've done multiple times. Just peace of mind if I forget to be able to relock it from anywhere if needed but that's about as useful as it is honestlythanks Vertex for chiming in. i hear what you're saying. i wish we could remote start the car... I'd sacrifice climate control. I might leverage on the "locking" the car... cuz as soon as i walk away from it, i hear the chime... but as soon as I step into a Store... first thing: "did i lock it?"
last night - went to my league game, got to the facility, locked the car with App. when i came out, the side mirrors were out, panic'd thinking: "it didn't lock" but when i grabbed the handle, it was locked. Not sure if this is a bug in the App.Same thing I've done multiple times. Just peace of mind if I forget to be able to relock it from anywhere if needed but that's about as useful as it is honestly
Umm.. I'd be more concerned (presuming you had your key in your pocket) that the car didn't automagically unlock when you went to open the door. ?‍last night - went to my league game, got to the facility, locked the car with App. when i came out, the side mirrors were out, panic'd thinking: "it didn't lock" but when i grabbed the handle, it was locked. Oh, the car was locked... it just didn't retract the side mirrors. when i went to open it, i used 1 finger... cuz i know if i grasp with whole hand, that unlocks it.Umm.. No the mirrors do not fold in if you lock the car with the app.last night - went to my league game, got to the facility, locked the car with App. when i came out, the side mirrors were out, panic'd thinking: "it didn't lock" but when i grabbed the handle, it was locked.
