Not exactly Supra-related, but I said goodbye to my six-speed daily driver Yaris this afternoon, another fairly unique car that is extremely hard to replace. Second time in 11 months that I've had a total loss, but this one was 0% my fault. Coming back from a concert last Monday night, God damn asshole deer, decided to really fuck up my schedule over here. It was a six-point buck at 76 mph, with zero time to react. Battery cable & wire harness were severed instantly, hood into windscreen, locked up all four wheels and nearly entered the ditch at an angle. I'm perfectly fine, just flustered.

Now both cars in this photo are gone ?

Could have gone so much worse though, so I have to be thankful, and insurance is coming through in spades again.

Engine likely ingested some debris..

Lastly, speedo is frozen in time...kinda eerie

Installed the Verus camber plates, track wheel setup (VS-5RS on A052 295/35), and wheel alignment check.

Got the -3 camber upfront I was aiming for, but was recommended front endlinks and tie rods. Is that necessary?

Have 2 track days coming up in November, so trying to get the car dialed in before then. ?

Thanks man. Halfway home I was like "damn it's such a beautiful night, I really should've brought the Viper instead." This exact accident in that car would have resulted is serious injury or worse. Explains why I'm shaken up by it, even though I've been driving that stretch of highway at least twice daily for the last ten years, and there's fresh kills every other week. It's just a numbers game in the grand scheme..

So when I was under the car with him, he pointed out the front passenger tie rod may be hitting. When I asked if it's preventing him from making the proper alignment he said yes.

The tie rods and endlinks are not touching, but maybe under full lock it could be hitting.

Hitting what? Endlinks? How are tie rod ends going to help with that? They shouldn't even be close to the endlinks.

Are you sure he wasn't pointing to the caster arm?

Ignore the arrows in these photos but you can see the tie rods shouldn't be close to the endlink at all.

The endlink will never get close to the tie rod as you are showing with the blue arrows in the first photo.

In the second photo, the sway bar wouldn't come close unless the end links were significantly shorter.

Do you have aftermarket coilovers or OEM struts?

In these photos, you can see even at full droop it doesn't even get close. Everything articulates.

Interesting, but I 100% agree with you.

Currently I’m on HKS HAS w/ OEM struts which I left at factory height. So the drop was minimal.

Maybe I’ll just get some spl end links for now, but thought there was no clearance issues running just the Verus camber plates.

Which adapter did you use?

I used the Tronik g80/g82 to g20 kit. Came with bolts.
