Trying to figure out why by battery won't charge beyond 86%. I use the CTEK MUS 4.3 TEST&CHARGE (in AGM mode). Whenever the CTEK indicates full charge, in Bimmerlink it only shows 86% state of charge. Is there a reason it won't charge beyond that?

Additional info: Apparently the battery was replaced while still brand new/at the dealer (@ approx. 35 miles according to Toyota Owners maintenance log). Bimmerlink does indicate this as the last battery change mileage so I assume the dealer registered it. Battery was replaced with the "Toyota" 00544-H9AAGM-TS.

I don’t know if yours is good or bad or what, but I went and checked mine with my CTEK it’s been on for a week. And mine reads 99%. Just information for you that it can/does go above that.

Did you verify they coded the right battery type and amp rating with BimmerCode?

Original battery as far as I know. I bought it with 17k on it and it has 27k now. Not sure if that is saying it’s been 23k since the battery was replaced or was replaced at 23k but that’s for sure not true. It is a 105Ah battery according to the sticker though.

Just checked Bimmcode. The correct battery is selected.
Buy yourself one of these and load test the battery. Everyone should own one in these times where batteries are so critical to a cars or motorcycles operation. Load test the battery every 6 months or so and replace the battery before it fails and leaves you stranded or starts causing weird electrical issues. They are way cheaper in the US as well.

I'll have to try the load tester, thank you.

Update: Been sitting on the CTEK for 4 days now, SOC is 87%.

Question: Would re-registering the battery gain me anything as far as status? CTEK indicates its charged (step 7) but the low SOC has me curious.

These AGM batteries if they are still ok and have been let discharge really need to be connected to a proper battery charger and have some solid amperage applied to them. Use a load tester first and see what it's health is.

This was done on the engine bay terminals. I'll do a load test tomorrow when I can have someone on the throttle.

My Supra has been charging with a CTEK MXS 5.0 for a few days.
I will unplug it tomorrow. I could quickly check the charging level in Bimmerlink if you'd like.

I'm assuming your battery is 4-5 years old now considering you have a 2020 model and the battery was replaced by the dealer when the car was still new, correct?
If so and the battery is still working fine then you could carry on with it but in my experience 5 years old the battery is getting into it's advanced years and getting stranded on the side of the road isn't fun.
