Almost a month in I have very little to criticize on the a90. My only true criticisms at this point in time is the okay at best infotainment which is livable but my main one is the horrible squeaking noise coming from the seat. I can only assume it’s from rubbing on the rear brace, as it only happens sometimes, usually turning. I do have the seat almost all the way back. At 6’2 on a good day, I fit pretty comfortably in this car. The noise can be a nuisance.

I’m seeing online this is common, and that it’s a pillar issue? I thought I’d ask here cause I thought getting a skinnier brace that doesn’t contact the seat might help/resolve the issue

wait til panels start creaking/vibrating LOL
my daily is a mk7 gti you’re preaching to the choir ? jokes aside I’m pretty tolerant of creaks and vibrations but this particular issue is really annoying as it gives me a sense of the seat being loose when it’s not. I’m sure I’ll get more used to it with more seat time.

thanks for the rear brace suggestions. The HKS does look nice. I think I’ll go RK cause I’m a sl*t for titanium ?

Replace with an HKS or Cusco bar, gives you a couple more inches of clearance.
I second this. I also had your same problem OP although I'm only 5'11" and have since adjusted where I have my seat positioned. After replacing the brace bar behind the seat with a better and slightly more functional one it added more seat room and I never had that noise happen again.

I think I went with USR bar link below (had mine custom painted by someone but see they've since also added the option on their site.)

looks perfect!
Good enough for half the cost, I think. Definitely recommend some sort of UV protection coating as I'm sure they probably skimped out there. But yeah, it's definitely a nice aesthetic upgrade. Install instructions are the exact same as HKS's. It can be done in an evening by yourself.

Lots of panels to remove, so make sure you have a nice set of trim removal tools & tools in general. Word of advice, tape over any deep holes to avoid the accidental dropping of sockets, screws or bolts ?

This thread helped too - https://www.supramkv.com/threads/rexpeed-strut-brace-installation.19180/

Wow the rexpeed does look nice and remember using their stuff way back in the day on my evo IX. I’d def consider them if I was wanting a carbon piece.
