Hey everyone I’m trying to figure out what is wrong with my car. It only has 11k miles no tune or anything stock. At cold starts it sort of vibrates as the rpm would lower it would have these occasional shudders or sputters if I could describe what it does and sometimes even hard enough to shake the car as if rpm’s where to drop low and correct itself back to normal. I’ve heard a few owners report this similar issue but no one seems to know why it happens. Took my car to the dealer twice! No answer! I’ve done spark plugs and fuel tank breather valve so far thinking these might be it but no win with them. Car drives fine just only does this weird idle thing when I’m stopped or parked.

Sounds like you're looking for something to worry about. Thank god you didn't grow up with carburated engines and manual chokes. You'd be certified by now.

I mean the car does some pretty violent chokes and shakes it shouldn’t be doing any of that… there is forsure something going on

Ok thats not conveyed in the video. It sounds like the engine goes sub idle periodically and the ECU catches it before it stalls and bumps it up again. Why it's going sub idle periodically is the question. I guess you need to log it and see whats happening at the time.

IF you use oil on your filter you can dirty up your MAF sensor that can cause this...........
......further to this......i find most engines like a little more rpms's for idle. The fact of the matter is the low idles of modern cars is mainly for emissions. I bumped mine up to 900rpm idle with bm3 and it seems happier. ( Or I am just happier with the rumble at lights)

We don't have a MAF sensor.
