Realise no one ever released a full video. Process took one of Singapore's most reknown installer, Uncle Lye from Lye Designs, 3 full days to install the trunk. It was not an easy process. The installation would be similar for any other brands i assume. Weight Savings 20lbs~

So here's the 1st Full Carbon Trunk installation Video.

It's wild to me that none of the carbon trunk vendors know how to install their products. Like, how did they even know the shape of the interior of the clamshell without taking one apart?

Thank you. 3 days of work distilled into 5 minutes. It was like watching paint dry when i was at the shop daily for 3 days getting the videos taken lol.

I feel that if they made such a guide or video and when people see how much work goes into it, it might disuade people from wanting to get this done.

All them boys with the their big wings gonna cry when they decide to go wingless
Why go wingless when you can install a supporting plate inside the trunk with much greater ease now, that big wing is gonna be even more secured.

If there was ever a video to demonstrate how pointless an ultra expensive complex modification is then this is it. All that work, grief and expense to save 8kg. I mean if people think it's worth it then fair play to them but somehow fails the cost/benefit equation for mine. Add to that the potential for breakages and other issues regarding bonding and debonding components, yea, nah.

I thank you for the Video it's great information and the guys that did it looked very competent. Not sure we'd have that level of competence readily available here.

So far I’ve managed to come up with a backup for every part on my car I’ve cut up. I’ve been considering a sacrificial hatch for my track aero too. Long run for a short slide tho.
