Now that were about a week in since the car released, I wanna hear the dumbest things your local dealer has told you about the Supra...

Mine came yesterday when a salesman randomly walked up to me and said that the white LE was a special color and thats why they marked it up by $30k....

Mine told me that if I am on the fence about buying it to buy it anyways, drive it for a year and then resell at a "nice profit" no problem. This car will only increase in value. Really?? Must be pretty special for sure. Also told me the LE would be here by 7/22/19. Still waiting!

That the car can easily do 1200 hp and that there are street cars already pushing that. But the car is not even out yet. Not out here in the USA but it has been out in other parts of the world.

“ you should really put a deposit down on one today because just like the last generation, and believe me I was at the dealership when the last one came out, we will only get about two of these things. They are going to be so rare “

Similar deal here. Their markup is the lowest around. Nobody selling them for MSRP. Better jump on it now cuz they don't think k they'll be producing many more, if any.

Why are most car salesman so uneducated on the products they sell, I will never understand. People buying a Prius or a Civic base I can understand not knowing much about cars. However for the most part buyers of the new Supra clearly know enough and research before going in. Lol the stuff they say to make a sale. The LE is rare yes, and these are the models getting marked up. The premium and base models should not be getting marked up. Hence why I went for a Premium as well, plus I CANNOT stand the red caps as well as not feeling the full flat black wheels, I have no idea why, but I kinda like the slight alloy/silver accents on the base/premium.

I'm with you on the black wheels and red caps, just not feeling them. I could tolerate the black wheels, but when I saw them in person my off-the-cuff reaction was that they looked like those old school police car or taxi cab wheels back when they all had painted flat-black wheels. Tolerable, but not what I'd choose. From the pictures, the standard wheels with silver accents look a lot better to me and really accentuate the car. That said, with some brake dust it may all be a moot point.

I was tentatively going for a red LE, in which case the mirror caps would not stick out. Another option is to order some standard gray caps (not the $$ carbon fiber ones) and swap them. Keep the red caps for the next owner who might want the stock LE colors.

This is legit the text the salesman I've been speaking with sent me last Monday morning:

"Hey brother we have 2 that just came in? I can't even tell which 1 is which but 1 has a msrp of 58ish and 55ish any idea?"

Entire process has been like this, lol. Oh well. Entertaining at least.

I posted this a few months ago after I called my dealership here in Abu Dhabi.

"Toyota doesn't make the Supra anymore but you could get it's replacement, the 86."

Totally fine to like different stuff and still want a limited release --- I could go for gloss black all around an Absolute Zero but I ended up deciding on a RR2.0 after saying "I'll never buy a red car." I definitely agree though, Please no $1000 mirror caps for me!

Went and saw the Supra in person yesterday for the first time.... salesmen told me that it could be tuned to 1,000 HP. I asked him if that voided the warranty. "Nope. It's not tuned by Toyota, it's built in a separate plant from Toyota and they are the ones that do the tuning."
