Nice! Assuming this would at least "help" with the cost a bit vs a custom installation? Is a template available for the entire car?

@XPEL Looking at the part list I think I'm seeing everything needed for a full install, correct?

I've been calling you guys to get this info. Great to finally hear that there is a pattern now!

I do have one question as I'm a newbie at this.
I recently helped out a friend for his Tesla Model 3 with 3M I think and when you lay the rear bumper pre-cut pattern, it was smaller than the actual bumper itself. Required lots of stretching and thus required so much re-alignment..

My question is, because the video's I've watched didn't go into such details, is it expected of the ppf to be stretched like that for a good application OR laying it and using the tools/soap/etc. adequate?

I'm curious to hear what Xpel themselves say, but the shop I contacted that specializes in Xpel and Suntek said that the front part of the car would require some stretching since it's so big that the pieces they cut don't actually come in that size. As for the back of the car, they said that given the shape, there are actually 2 pieces for it, and so there would be a seam. Apparently the seam is only visible if you're very, very close to the car and really paying attention (even in matte).

Some applications require stretching for a proper fit of the body curvature, and XPEL surely accounts for this in their scanning/templating. One kit I put on many years ago required a massive amount of stretching to get the right fit. It was a PITA for me as a DIY installer but came out great in the end. The trick was to squeegee down the center of the film in the proper place, then stretch the edges into proper alignment and work/squeegee the material in between. The shape itself pretty much told me what was needed at each step. There were also cues from headlight cutouts that helped serve as intermediate references. It was like taking a shrunken scaled shape and massaging it to match the vehicle.

As someone with cork on another car. Highly recommend them. Protect your rides people!! My cars with 80k miles still look brand new with ppf and ceramic coatings.

Hello @XPEL, I'm curious to see when you guys plan on releasing pre-cut versions on your website.
Being summer time, reputable dealers I call are busy for weeks. I'd like to get my hands on the pre-cut and apply it myself.
Please let me know.

Thanks! The cost of a custom installation can be more than a pre-cut kit install because the labor hours for a custom install go up. But that said, pre-cut kits are the way to go as you can wrap any edge possible giving you the same amount of coverage as a bulk custom install without all the extra blade time on your paint.

@XPEL Looking at the part list I think I'm seeing everything needed for a full install, correct?
Correct. We have full patterns for the Supra. You can wrap your entire car in XPEL PPF.

I have a question for you in the PPF thread - don't want to ask it in both places so I'm just pasting a link to it here:

https://www.supramkv.com/threads/paint-protection-film-or-coating-or.1872/page-4

(Basically, I would be interested to hear how you all differentiate yourself from Suntek with respect to your Stealth PPF versus their Matte.)
Supra Dupra,

Awesome name. We will respond there no problem.

Great question, so PPF patterns are designed differently per each film and pattern software. For example, XPEL DAP (Design Access Program) kits are designed with XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS PPF in mind. Each film will stretch and install differently. And yes, pre-cut kits are designed to maximize efficiency with film usage and so some stretch is usually required.

@XPEL Do you guys make your film available to DIYers or are you locked into going through an installer.
While the film is available for purchase on our website, we do always recommend having it professionally installed due to the extreme difficulty of a great installation. Plus, the price of the material and all of the tools and supplies may not be that far off of the price of a professional installation. It's at least looking into what local install rates are near you.

The Supra patterns are currently available for sale and while they're not appearing on the website just yet due to technical difficulties, you can call into 210-678-3700 and talk to our customer support team about ordering the pre-cut kits. You can also reach them at [email protected].

Hi, I've reached out to support. They did respond in a flash.
For everyone's sake here, I'm asked to search on the site for P0160, which the picture in OP's post also suggests.
Anyhow, looking at all the patterns I'm not quite understanding the Hood and Mirror Kits.
Judging by the size and pattern, both offered patterns seem to only cover quite a small portion of the hood (and the lack of vent cut-out). Will there be a full hood option?

Front bumper pattern looks super scary! (as expected)

Great question - as the Supra is one of about a dozen cars where the hood is so massive, we don't supply a full hood kit as it's easier on sizes and shapes like this to just bulk the hood since it requires so much stretching and fitment. I would highly recommend getting full hood protection. The partial hood kit (while a standard pattern we always get) will not protect enough since the car is so low slung to the ground.

Just picked up my supra yesterday and went straight to the PPF shop to get XPEL stealth done on the entire car. Will post pictures when I pick up the car next Saturday.
