I'd be satisfied with a base model like the white one being shown in videos.

Yep, not surprising. A lot of us car people tried to say this but people thought we were haters. It’s the way it is for any car, whether it’s a Corvette or a Nissan Sentra.

The most interesting thing about this car will be the interior. The Corvette has not really been known to have the best quality of plastics inside (although they’ve improved) but I am curious to see what the interior looks and feels like, especially knowing that Chevy seems to have bent over backwards in order to have a base “under $60,000” price for its first model year only.

I will say this though... perhaps it may be possible to get this car for “under $60,000” after its first model year, and that would be towards the end of its life cycle, perhaps even near the mid cycle refresh. Again, same trend for every car.

Z06 won't be released with 800hp....absolute garbage report. They can match (or be in similar range) the front engine Z06 HP and already gain big performance advantage both in acceleration and track times and would be going to much too quickly for future sales to stay strong. Maybe mid engine ZR1 version later but you wont see 800hp for at least 3-4 years and only in the "super" vette version.

Plenty of dealers not charging any markup. I have a C8 deposit with a dealer that's selling it for MSRP.
My rule is, until you pay for the car they can adjust the price anyway before hand. Do you have a signed statement saying MSRP only? Just asking b/c one of their known tricks is to "promise" MSRP, but then send you a response near to your delivery of, "due to massive interest, we have to include a market adjustment of x amount. Is that ok?"

I have it in writing that they're selling it for MSRP and the deposit is refundable. In addition, this a top 3 Corvette dealer in the US, and they have posted on the Corvette forum that he's selling all 2020 C8 allocations at MSRP.

Clearly a good dealership^, local Chevy store got 40 and all are gone at MSRP, with the number GM wants to sell its silly to think anyone would need to pay over MSRP
