im looking for coilovers that retain edc, and come down to these two options.

would nitron be worth the extra 1k ?

im just looking to set the coils once and forget. lower a bit and keep a nice street ride and look. track maybe once a year

KW DDC is one of our best selling coils for this car. Perfect for the guys that drive on street more than canyon/track. Nitron is a great track coilover.

We have the DDC in stock.

I’ve been on DDC’s for over a year. Have two sets actually.

great riding street coilover that can do occasional track duty. Feel free to DM since I got both sets for sale!

Any reason you haven't considered RSR Best i Active coilovers? They also retain EDC function.

just based on the price tag, kw ddc is more expensive and that should mean better build/ride quality in the long run. i was just wondering if the same is the case for nitron, but if nitron are mainly track oriented coils ill probably purchase some kw ddc since mine is mainly on streets

Not a Corvette.
The KW DDC's cost $4,700.

If it was me, I would 1000% buy Ohlins for $3,400 over anything KW. It will ride better and be a much higher quality dampener. You lose the EDC but honestly the EDC isn't programmed for the higher spring rates anyway.

Anything KW below KW motorsport dampeners are pretty low quality.

+1 for Onlins. Hard to beat for the price

Just cause its more expensive doesn't mean its better but KW DDC is a very good coilover that plenty of Supra members have ran. We got them in stock.

If the Öhlins suspension is over 1k USD cheaper in the US, I would choose that one. Here in Germany, the Öhlins costs €3,975 witc EDC cancellation kit, and the KW DDC is currently available from a shop celebrating its anniversary for €3,060 (list price €3,470). I have the cheaper KW V3 (i paid 2.3k € with cancellation kit) installed and overall I’m very satisfied. It’s clearly better than the stock suspension and offers a very good compromise between everyday usability and a sportier driving. Of course, it’s not a suspension focused on track use, but for the road it works really well - with two points that I have to mention negatively:
  1. I would prefer if the minimum lowering were lower and closer to the stock ride height.
  2. My rear left damper was already leaking after 10,000 km. Of course, that can always happen (though it hadn’t happened to me with KW before), but yeah it sucks. However, it was replaced under warranty without any issues.

I was very interested in the Nitron coilovers and adding aircups to them (Which they said would work) and I chased Nitron for weeks to sell me a set and they just never replied back. In all my years in motorsports I never had to nearly beg a seller of something to sell me their product. So, that was a major turnoff for me. Still looking for a coilover setup that would allow me to run hydraulic front axle lift aircups.... (not air ride).

Were you dealing directly with Nitron? MCS, JRZ, Penske all sell through dealers. Unless you’re some big shot OEM, I don’t think Nitron has time to deal with one off sales.

This is probably one of the major reasons to get those other brands instead because their dealer networks are more established.

Yeah, I was speaking directly with Nitron. At no point did they say I needed to work thru a dealer. At some point they just stopped replying. I would have been happy to work through a dealer if that's their business model. However, after chasing them 5 times after our multi-email thread, I was put off by it and went a different route.
