  • In March 2024, my DME was unlocked using the older Femto method.
  • Recently, I sent the DME back to Femto to apply the Full Bench Unlock (complete unlock).
  • The unit was returned in a fully-unlocked, stock ROM state.
  • After reinstalling BM3:
    • The stock ROM shown in my BM3 online account does not update and remains outdated.
    • Any newly converted map is still loaded as CustomROM v1.
    • The tables required for CustomROM v2 do not appear.

I received the Full Read BIN file from Femto and had to send it to BM3 support so they can update the base ROM on their side.

And…..

Appreciate you sharing your experience to help others. However, what is the conclusion or moral of the story? Feels like a half told story.

Did you ask them to install CustomROM V2 while performing the bench unlock?

Its not supposed to be needed with thew new full unlock.
Oh, right.

Honestly, this sounds more like a BM3 problem than a Femto unlock issue, if BM3 support was able to resolve this with a map update.

Are you able to download an OTS map to test?

Not a Corvette.
I had to ask BM3 to update my V1 to V2 as well and I have a pre 06/2020 DME. I think they do this to make sure the people with the original unlocking method they used for 06/2020+ DME's didn't accidentally try to use V2 when their DME wasn't able to.

Was this resolved? Was about to do the same with mine.
