On my invoice it shows road tax as £0 as the dealer said it was included in the OTR price.

Looking at the https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables, the CO2 rating of 170g/km puts it at £530 for the 1st year, it will then be £465 for the next 5 years (£145 standard + £320 because the list price is over £40k)
I've just rang DVLA about this, it's actually supposedly £530 + £320.00 = £850 a year road tax for years 2-6

Nevermind, understood it wrong.. Thank f*ck!! lol

That would be crazy expensive!

My Civic (176g/km) was £720 first year tax, but then is only £140/£145 a year now. BMW/Toyota did well to get a 3.0l straight 6 to have lower emissions than a 2.0l 4 cylinder...

As it appears that most of us are going to get our vehicles sometime in September or after, how many vehicles will be going into storage after the first year to reappear in 2021 say for 6 months, paying the road tax by d/d which is cheaper than upfront, in each of the following years, 2-6?

You’ve been given duff info. Muppets!

So... year one RFL is built into the cost price of the car and is emission dependent, the Supra has first year VED of £530 plus the standard first reg fee of £55 giving £585 total but that is included within the cost price of the car already.

For cars registered as of today in England, irrespective of CO2 emissions, road fund is now calculated on a level playing field based on the fuel type and the taxable list price of the car.

The base VED cost is £145 for petrol and diesel cars, £0 on electric and £135 on alternative/hybrid cars.

In addition to this if the car has a list price of £40k or more (which naturally the Supra does) then there is an additional £320 to pay for the subsequent five years. After this, it drops back to the £145 rate, so in summary:

Brand new - £585 built into on the road price
Year 2-6 - £465
Year 7+ - £145

I'll be taxing and using mine, but my Civic is my daily. Both are garaged together so can choose depending on how the weather is on any particular day.

Still waiting here, they still don't have the battery for the computer, then still need SnapOn to set it up, then need a technician from Glasgow which seems the only one qualified in Scotland to come up to do the PDI... Even getting mine this week might be a stretch!

Nice, good luck with that!

I've checked the UK Tax check on my registration and can't see it registered, not sure if anybody else has checked to see fi they are road registered yet?

I'm hoping mine is all ready, including PPF applied, for Friday collection now. But you never know, they might push that further.
