Well Custom Import Arts finished today officially their stage1 tuning, with just a downpipe:
  • 521HP en 775NM torque at the crank
Still on 98RON. Now using the 'ron' as apparently there is a differene between the European 'octane' and the one used in US for example if not mistaken.

Impressive numbers if I say it myself and look at that torque curve... lots of torque over the entire RPM range:

Trying to pick her up tonight. Time for test driving. Unfortunately... it will be raining this week in Belgium.

My Supra is back home to test her in daily rides and watching out for fault codes

Small review that I have also put on Instagram:
Just test drove this insane 520HP mad rear-wheel 775NM torque monster, Stage1 tuned by @customimportarts and @tonnisneyers
This beast is freaking insane. Huge amount of torque available from low RPM all the way till 6K.
When you put your foot down: she goes... and I mean really goes warpspeed with 0.0 turbolag. Once you release the throttle, the growling sound and bangs from the exhaust are mentally insane.

However, dont underestimate this machine. With traction control and other aids off, she is very tail-happy in even dry conditions. Catch her before its too late. But when you can... that smile on your face will be priceless. God I am going to enjoy test-driving her in daily traffic.

Thanks again @customimportarts and @tonnisneyers ... for making this already one hell of a thing to drive. Really looking forward to Stage2 from you guys

Customimportarts also tuned the "pops & bangs". Now my European Supra sounds a lot better.

As you all know, only a downpipe fitted. Still on the stock mid-cat and stock exhaust

so im a little confused is that 520hp calculated to the wheel or the engine?

awesome numbers by the way.... i can also tell you that they become a beast like you say..... have to be very careful when you go to thottle

congrats

At the engine on 98ron (guess thats 93 octane in America).

Yes tested today throttle in the wet with tractioncontrol on... does not need a lot of throttle to kick in as you said as well :)

Here again with another update. I have been daily driving the car now for a week.

Driving the car on the road
What I experienced for driving:
  • No traction in wet conditions when in first gear and doing 1/4th throttle in sport mode
  • No traction in minor wet at all in 3rd gear going half the throttle from 70km/h in normal mode
  • No traction in minor wet on 1/2 throtthle accleration, starting in second, spinning in second, shifting to third, spinning in third, shiting in 4th, spinning in 4th and then releasing throrrle and gaining traction again :)
Keeping that traction control on in the wet :D
So yes, I am checking how well the car runs on normal road conditions. As it is fall, rainy days in Belgium and getting colder.

Fault codes
Fault codes are there due to road conditions being very different from the 'ideal dyno'
  • We are hitting the knock-sensor/detection alert
  • We are hitting the torque limiter alert
The above resulting in the car saying 'reduced power, please go to deal for diagnostics'.

Adjusted map tune
This evening, I uploaded a modified map by Custom Import Arts
  • They lowered the ignition temperature slighty and adjusted the torque maps
Flash done via the through the MHD android app.

I will be testing this new map tomorrow and upcoming days, as no rain is forecasted for the rest of this week.

Tires
By the way, tires are wearing out after just over 3000 kilometers of 'abuse'. So that does not help for traction either :)
Winter tyres will come over the next month or so.

where you able to test ?
Yes tested late last night and today

1)
Decreasing ignition temperature by 1 a 2 degrees, solved error code:
  • 152F08 (Super-knocking: Torque limitation due to too high a super-knocking number)

2)
But now we are getting error code:
  • 11A605 (Fuel system: Delivery performance for full throttle too low)
Custom Import Arts is going to look into it, they think it is the TPS that they need to descale by 2% or 3%

3)
After a long drive, the following error code also appears
  • 180001 (Catalytic converter: Efficiency too low)
But guess that is either a sensor that needs to be disabled... or just because it was 45 kilometers of slow traffic (driving from city to city in busy traffic)

4)
As last, 2 codes that we don't need to worry about:
  • CD990B (Message (request, rear axle speed, 69.3.4) missing, receiver DME, transmitter DSC)
  • CD990E (Message (front axle speed request, 69.3.4) missing, receiver DME, transmitter DSC)

Conclusion
From the moment that Custom Import Arts has some time again to look into the coding and make adjustments, I can flash the ECU with the new file and test again.

Daily driveability testing still on-going :)

where you running low fuel level..

fuel delivery code happened to me with multiples tunes in my car and though it was something wrong with the tune.
this car tends to suffer from fuel starvation,, happened to me twice until filled her up for the weekend and have never seen the code again

so try that before going crazy

#4 these 2 codes always seem to pop up when ever other codes a present,

Here it was with still half a tank full of petrol, code appeared.
I was not even going full throttle and not at 5K RPM levels.

Yes correct, don't go crazy when you only have like 1 bar left on the fuel gauge in the Supra :)
  • Know that from my old GT-R... there it is not wise to go crazy when 1/4th is still left due to the upgraded fuel pump (risk of sucking air)

*Edit*
Still need to test, but maybe it happens when you release the throttle for half a second, going throttle again.
Also for example after: release throttle a bit, manually shifting a gear up and throttle again.

Noticed for example when coming across these 'speed slowers' (or which word it is in English :p):
c79437b55c5c9951dea9dd78facc22a7_L.jpg

But for now... the above is just guessing.

Just made a vid with my cellphone of the outside exhaust sound.
Don't mind the fans blowing in the background :)

It has been a while since the last update.

The car was 2.5 weeks at Blitz Car Detailing for full detailing package.
She is now protected by PPF Ultra from Suntek + detailing and coating by LaboCosmetica.

Now I don't need to worry any longer about scratches and stone chips.
