Supra VS GT350

Well than the plan is to get a gen 2 350R.Going to have save up a little more since there 75-85k for a decent low milage one so I'll have the supra probably till the end of the year but this is the longest i've owned a car which would be 2 years lol.I love the supra and it is a gorgeous car but just kinda get bored of it.

I’d love to have a newish 911, and I almost did like 10 years ago before the used and new market went crazy.
Maybe some day, but right now I have too many hobbies I would need to give up to buy one of them.
The Supra does a really good job scratching an itch and I didn’t have to sacrifice my other hobbies to get one.

I'm late to this thread, but if it's possible I strongly recommend adding it to your fleet, rather than replacing one for the other. They're wildly different experiences and both fun to drive for different reasons.

Edit:The supra is more direct, "torquey," and smaller. It has a more refined feeling and I think it handles far better than my GT350. On the other hand the GT350 sounds better, cruises nicer, and has a *much* better manual transmission. They both drove so differently that I had to make moves to keep them both.

Another reasonable option is the Mach 1. I had one before the GT350 and loved it with the Tremec. I ultimately sold the M1 for the Supra and then of course missed it enough to just get another S550.

I’m sure the GT350 is a much better experience but it’s still basically just another mustang but with a better powertrain and suspension.

Oh, someone mentioned brakes. I don't remember the pads I was running, but I've never had a car brake so hard. Of course, I've never driven a car with THAT much mechanical grip, either. With 300mm+ at each corner, you can run a serious pad. The car put me into the harness pretty hard. It was AWESOME. With all rotors being 15" or larger there was definitely no fade.
The brakes were my favorite part of the car.

I don't get why everyone shits on mustang. I get it they made a million of them but it's not a bad looking car at all. The gt350 is whole different feeling than a base gt and even the mach 1. Feel like a lot of people get caught on the rarity and how many were produced.

I briefly drove my friend’s GT350 a year ago and it instantly left a huge impression on me.

It's kind of always been like that for the 21st century. When you're the most popular performance car sold in the states you're going to get your fair share of hate. Personally I've never been into Mustangs because I don't like performance cars that are the size of sedans, and of course the aforementioned common-ness of base model stangs. And the stereotypes of V8 mustang owners aren't great either.

Would I rock a GT350 if it was my only option? Absolutely I'd probably have a blast, they're pretty sick cars and the ideal Mustang to me (excluding the Terminator, which is one of my dream garage cars). Would I take one over a Supra? Not a chance.

I don’t think I was shitting on it but I’m just not a big fan of Fords.
I’m also just not really into v8 performance right now.
My opinion is similar to Jmikes, I wouldn’t kick one out of the garage but it’s not really what speaks to me right now.
If I was after that I would probably go for a c8 grand sport or used z06.
I would skip the New Balance shoes though.
I try to avoid used performance cars though, odds are high they were beat on or driven poorly.

As I said before, drive what moves you, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
Everyone has different needs and wants and different tastes.
As long as it’s a great car and excites you, regardless of brand, I don’t think there are any wrong choices.

The corvette isn't even american muscle anymore they're super cars, the z06 and grand sport are 100k plus.I could get a gt500 or CT5-V Blackwing for around 90k which i rather have

There are a lot of Ford haters out there.
Some of it is justified but most is overblown.
As I said, I’m not a big fan, but that’s my experience and opinion.
Out of the handfull of Fords I had I didn’t have good experiences with reliability or service.
Maybe just bad luck.

I think the 5.0 is a pretty reliable engine but the new build quality of the F150's and the s650 are pretty garbage since they want to charge 60k for a base model F150 and than 45-50k for a mustang gt which is insanity. Don't even get me started on the dark horse, basically a newer mach 1 selling for 65k. Not the biggest fan of Ford or GM both are pretty garbage now. Just a mustang fan

Which is partly (but not primarily) why I got a Supra.
I trust BMW and Toyota a lot more than Nissan, Ford, or GM right now.
Not much bad can be said about the B58 (minus some plastic exterior fittings) or the manual as well.

Reliability isn’t everything though, if it was we would all be driving Camry’s and Tacoma’s.

Agreed. It all comes down to doing homework on certain vehicles .I would never get any new nissan but I have 17 Titan with 120k miles i use as my work truck and have had little to no problems with it. Of course i maintain it and fix any little problem that comes up but it's treated me well so far. Was think about getting a Tundra but the largest bed they have is 6ft which is kind of crazy, it's a "truck" but i guess most pick ups now a days aren't work trucks anymore.

The Tundra is a shit-show with all the engine problems.
I have a loaded 2016 Ram 2500 with a Cummins diesel I bought new and I added a full Carli/king suspension shortly after
It’s been flawless so far after 10 years with about 130k on it.
I use it in bad weather and for pulling other toys.
With the price of new trucks I’ll probably just keep it forever.
