I am willing to bet the 2021’s prices will be higher.

And I really don’t think they will be dropping the 2020 price that much just from the announcement of 2021. Maybe selling them alittle below MSRP but just no more mark ups.

They are still very proud of the Supra. Keep in mind we aren’t talking about a Corolla here. It’s still a limit production car.

There is something to be said about owning a SUPRA! We own one badass machine and its an awesome experience every time we set foot in it!! I installed my downpipe yesterday and drove the car this morning to work, man I smiled the entire time into the parking lot. I even got a thumbs up after I exited the freeway!

Lets not forget that we still one of the best drivers cars on the market TODAY... not 8 months from now. Don’t be sad about the recent news guys! Live in the present and enjoy these damn cars!

On another note, anyone going to the Supra Sunday event at Longo Toyota in Los Angeles? I’ll be there in my nitro yellow a90 with launch edition wheels. My car will be obnoxiously loud and burbly just the way like it!

Do we know for sure that the 2021 3.0 will be the same price? It might help reduce the sting if the new one is more expensive.
Yeah, if the price is up I don't care. Love the car, kind of annoyed they announced this the same week I bought it, oh well. Probably on me that my interpretation of "adding more power" was based on my past experience with BMW - i.e., they're adding more power to the 3 series this coming MY, but it's called the M3 and isn't exactly comparable to the M340i. I always figured they'd have another trim above Premium for the power increase. It being the same trim is a bit more annoying.

Anyway, I'm only worried about depreciation. I planned in significant cushion in case we decided to have a kid, and another few grand loss if I sell it in two years won't kill anything, but I'd rather have that few grand in my pocket, know what I mean?

And if the new premium is like $61k MSRP it likely won't affect much anyway. The 335i example from before is a good one - when I got my 2009 335i, the ones with the older engine were definitely cheaper, but they also fit a niche between the newer 328i and N54 335i. Kind of a middle ground, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been for those owners.

And if the prem is into the low $60's to mid $60's. People that waited out for 2021 would be kicking themselves in the head bc they could of gotten it way cheaper. And 2020 would be the best bang for the buck model. Same as the R35 GTR when it jumped in price after a few years.

Very few cars are immune to depreciation these days. Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini all create obsolescence by releasing never ending new models.

The Supra will be in production for a good 5-7. Expect a manual variant, one with iDrive 7 and Android Auto and even an S58 or N58 variant.

Be happy with the car you have got. What's great about the Supra is the wide availability of reversible suspension and engine upgrades if you wish for more power or a change in ride/handling.

I seriously doubt there will be a price increase.

I’m pretty sure the reason we are seeing this new engine now has everything to do with BMW’s supply chain. There’s no reason for them to keep producing the old b58. All BMW cars that have an i6 will get this new b58 and the old b58 will be phased out in all models.

I agree about the price increase, they might add $500-1000, but I can not see more then that, the demand for the car doesn't come close to warrant it, they are sitting on lots all over the place. In New England it is very easy to find $4K off, after this 2021 news I am sure that will be even more.

Yeah, and I suppose regardless of the price of the 2021 yesterday's news will equate to price drops for the 2020's. So I'd be a bit upset if I paid MSRP or over.
Anyone that pays over MSRP I do not feel bad for at all, history shows that is a very foolish thing to do, if no one did it dealers couldn't attach ADM's, but too many people have to be first in line.

Honestly, I'm more bummed about the 4cyl version. What I've loved about my 2020 here in Howard County Maryland is that it appears to be the only one around. I've never seen another Supra. Regardless of speed, the car looks amazing and I get thumbs-up and comments from people daily. By introducing a lower-cost, lower-powered model, I'm worried they're gonna start flooding the streets.

The car's amazing. I do think I'll probably tune it once I can be convinced that I'll still pass MD emissions every two years (and find a local tuner that can actually work on these cars). For now, I'm enjoying the attention and the performance.

Toyota does have to be careful cause if the price goes up too much then people will just pay a little more and go for the C8 corvette.

I would say most of the Hardcore import and Supra guys aren’t in the market for a corvette even if they had the money. Apples and oranges. I never been a fan of American cars and never will be. But that’s just me.

Hmm, a couple power thoughts. Don't the 2020's dyno at 330 whp, so like, 380 flywheel (not 380 at the wheels)? And a DP and tune will take a 2020 WAY BEYOND a stock 2021 - like 80-100 flywheel hp more, correct?

I think it's silly to complain. Any power number you want it easily attainable. If staying 100 percent stock is a must, then trade up every time they add 40-50 hp, which will likely be often.

I agree with that. I did look at some C7 17 Vettes and they are pretty good deals on them for the price on what you can get. I’ve always wanted a Supra and was too young and didn’t have enough money in the 90’s or early 00’s so I don’t want to let this Supra slip away this time. At the end of the day you got to get want makes you happy. Cause if it’s about the newest and fastest car you’ll have keep trading in every year as it every keeps getting better. That’s why people with a 64 Mustang or 62 Corvette don’t have these problems. In fact for them the older the better it gets.
