I am aware of some China/Taiwan based companies that sell B58 charge pipes for less, but we have never used them and are not familiar with their quality. SSR makes one as well that is on sale for $349, we can order as well.

Forge Motorsport is local to us, so we are familiar with the quality of their brand.
Not sure ECS Tuning and Evolution Racewerks are selling China/Taiwan products... but, thanks, I will check into the SSR.

I didn't mention those brands as I do not know where theirs are made. However, ECS sells FTP Charge pipes which is a company based in Taiwan.

Would be nice if the kit had T-bolt clamps, but I guess they can be ordered separately
I do like the look of T-Bolt clamps myself. Might be something we can offer :)

If you're staying stock turbo with stage 2 tune, is there any reason to upgrade the charge pipe?

one of the reason to change it is that the oem charge pipe is made out of plastic.

BoostLogic has one that is included in their turbo kit. Not sure if they are selling individually.

I can't say I've seen reports on the Bx8 platforms but n54/n55 would have our plastic chargepipes crack even under stock boost pressure and even in the warranty mileage -- not talking about 100k engine bays. Depending on the severity of the crack, it might be as minimal as a boost leak or could be as severe to throw the car into limp mode permanently until fixed. I never directly heard of it but there was fear mongering on the forums on those plastic shards going into the engine.

BP engineering

General knowledge is aluminum is slightly better at heat management

Titanium tends to be stronger and lighter

It looks cool though

The issue with titanium is that if it is welded incorrectly you are going to get stress fractures. Durability goes to shit from contamination embrittlement. Iā€™ve done a sizable amount of industrial titanium work and the number of places that handle titanium incorrectly boggles my mind.

The picture posted of the titanium charge pipe a few post above is of poor image quality so I hate to comment, but I will say there are some spots Iā€™d want to go over with better pictures before ordering one.
