Mechanically it's literally parts bin BMW. 25,000 is a pretty large number. 5 or 6 years is a longer run than most vehicles get. If this actually keeps you up at night, time to trade it in for a base model Camry. I'd say most owners appreciate the uniqueness and rarity. I know I'm certainly happy to not see 10 every time I go out.
and don’t forget the b58 will have plenty of afternarket support and parts from other vehicle models as well that used a similar engine. But I will say, even with the Mkiv at 12k produced in the states, it was tough for a while with parts being discontinued or hoarded but many people are stepping up for reproduction parts which is so cool to see Finally!
And I would say somewhere around 20% will be manual. ~23k autos and ~5k manuals
