after watching that media event posted by streetfx, toyota didn't spark much confidence in response to the question whether the supra would be covered by warranty if taken to the track as compared to hyundai and their i30n being covered without an issue.

Hahaha, agreed on that one. How are people planning on mounting their front plates? I was thinking of getting a tow hook plate mount but not sure where from in Aus.

On my Golf R I double sided taped them on

Not fitting number plate (to avoid holes), doing all the pre-delivery detailing myself, as well as being there for predelivery procedure

most dealers should have a supra in stock now, customers cars will be available shortly - some next few days.

Drive day was incredible. I let Harry Bates do a lot of the driving since he certainly knows the track and gave me an idea what the car can do.

I dont know how well the live stream i did was, people complained it was very choppy.

Main questions you might be interested in knowing:

** Warranty: Yes there is track warranty in non competition events. That's a little vague, but lets just say if you did suffer something on the track, best say it happened somewhere outside, just to be on the safe side.

They aren't proactively cruising around events and blacklisting you if they see you there.

** Manual will come to Australia, but not yet (presumably only the 4 cyl)

** DCT was ruled out due to weight and complexity (from Tada San himself)

** Toyota approached BMW to make a sports car.. It took years to even come to an agreement, and without Toyota pushing for a pure sports car, even the Z4 was not slated to be reincarnated.

** New models will receive a bump in power every year

** I asked about prospects of an Aero top, and Tada san said he personally does not like aero, and if they did one it would be a full convertible. This disappoints me as I think full convertibles look average, and it would make it even closer to Z4.. Secondly the Aero with roof insert missing only looks perfect.

Mine will be delivered on Saturday as the first customer delivered car <3

We will live stream that, with some better cameras this time.

Will also be doing a drive and photoshoot with my other toyotas alongside the new Supra.

The USA consumer protection body is useless. I contacted them when ECS Tuning wouldn't honor a warranty on an item I purchased from them, and got absolutely nowhere.

What are people doing/getting quoted for insurance?

what was the rough quote on the supra with shannons ? can't remember the company the dealer quoted me on but was about $1500 with 900 excess from a vague memory
