  1. Aftermarket Steering Wheel - No horn

Was it a BMW G series wheel you fitted or the Berktuning Supra aftermarket wheel? Phil
  2. Aftermarket Steering Wheel - No horn

So check the basic stuff first isn't advice worth giving? The common issue most have with the horn during a wheel replacement is the horn stays on not it won't work. BTW is it even a BMW G series wheel he's fitted to his car? The std Supra airbag/horn setup looks to be completely different to...
  3. Aftermarket Steering Wheel - No horn

Not sure what the exact issue is with your horn maybe a connection problem or a blown fuse but your mechanic sounds like he's got no idea. All the OEM parts are transferred to the new wheel which in reality is only the wheel rim and a bare centre core structure. Maybe the horn wasn't working...
  4. 2025 Supra 3.0 Premium Incoming Soon

Wise move. I mean I've got a few mods like conservativly sized wheel spacers and a shift knob.Things like that are fine reliability wise as is most cosmetic stuff. Biggest issue with cosmetic mods is either the fit or the quaity of the part and often as not both. Most stock Supras make over 380...
  5. 2025 Supra 3.0 Premium Incoming Soon

Should be 9.5/10. Modding is the fast way to unreliability in most cases. It's proportional of course. Phil
  6. Kinetic art

Had lunch in Carlton on Sunday and spotted this parked in Lygon St. Had to have a look inside of course and there sitting on the passengers seat were the keys! Magnificent looking car. Bit remenicent of the Supra in looks but with a large serve of class and elegance.
  7. V-band downpipe to turbo loosening

Good for you, but not all V band clamps and pipe flanges are created equal. I've done literally hundreds if not a thousand in my time and some are just fine throwing on the clamp and tightening it up and some are a little more problematical and the grease and tap method sorts them out. The OP...
  8. V-band downpipe to turbo loosening

Or as the old aircraft engineers saying gos "the Maintenance Manual, for guidance to the wise and the blind obedience of fools". Phil
  9. V-band downpipe to turbo loosening

Well then use a hammer and a long brass drift. Phil
  10. V-band downpipe to turbo loosening

The best way to tighten V band clamp is to apply a smear or anti seize grease, a copper based one is good on the clamps internal faces and as you tighten the clamp up stop periodically and tap around the perimeter of the clamp with a soft faced hammer and continue tightening. The anti seize...
  11. What did you do to your Supra today?

I do like an organised tool draw. I bought this recently more to try out the Gearwrench brand and see what they were like quality wise as I've got a ton of hand tools but the organising tray is really nice as well and not just a display/packaging piece but a proper quality tray. Phil
  12. What did you do to your Supra today?

And hows that been working out for you?;) Phil
  13. What did you do to your Supra today?

At least my posts annoy you so thats a bonus:lol: Phil
  14. What did you do to your Supra today?

Wrong colour for garage walls and floors. The black/charcole colour sucks the lumens out of your illumination. A reflective white although somewhat dirt showing make a massive difference to the amount of working light you have on whatever you are doing. We even painted the hangar floors white...
  15. trunk support stops for high downforce wings

Nice engineering. I often wondered about generating aerodynamic downforce with a wing attached to flexible plastic bodywork/trunk hatch and what the implications were of doing that. Looks like here they have thought about it as well with some struts to transfer the aero force directly to the...
  16. Supra (?) Rogue Engineering Short Shifter

There are no magical "game changing" solutions with any of these driveline mods. It's all just fiddling around the edges. If you want faster 1st to 2nd shifts then reduce the ratio jump between first and second gears and/or reduce the reciprocating mass of the gearset to make the syncros life...
  17. Supra (?) Rogue Engineering Short Shifter

It won't and doesn't. It's just a stop that eliminates the dead zone after the clutch disengages. It doesn't change the effective clutch pedal to pressure plate travel ratio Phil
  18. Water Pump Leak in Under 29k Miles

The tiny amount of dried coolant around the reservoir cap under certain driving conditions and is not necessarily considered a cap fault by BMW. Phil
  19. Bevinsee Jack pads

If you haven't even looked at the pad then you can't say difinitively"no actual damage to the car" The only way to tell if you've damaged the car structurally is to at least look at the pad and see if it's been punched up into the body shell structure to any degree. Phil
