  1. New Toyota Supra rumored to get Toyota twin turbo V6 engine

If this is the case I'm all for it. Partner up to make a light platform while still using a Toyota engine. Wouldn't mind Supra being used either. ^ It's most likely a new develop engine that would be made for this car.
  2. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

All sounds good and promising that the Supra successor is in the works. But it's the same thing we have been hearing for years now. We know Toyota wants to build passionate cars etc. again. Show us something else already something worthy to talk about.
  3. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

^ I agree 100%. Any idea if anything is to come to the LA auto show in November? It's the last big auto show besides Pebble Beach but I don't see a debut at Pebble Beach for this.
  4. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

^ I agree...and no official update from Toyota on the FT-1/Supra is no help. Seems like a Supra revival is becoming more likely. Lexus / BMW positioning a car in the same position for similar prices sounds more realistic than a BMW / Toyota car built for 2 different classes. I guess we'll have...
  5. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

He shares a lot of interesting points about the new LC500. Confirms platform can be used for other front engine / RWD + other alternative powertrains = Possibly FT-1/Supra?
  6. Crickets... give us some news Toyota!

At this point if a concept is to be shown this year we still have Pebble Beach and LA auto show is all I can think of. Extrememly dissapointing.
  7. Crickets... give us some news Toyota!

So no news or update regarding this car from Toyota today at the NY Auto Show:banghead: The Toyota 86 looked a lot better than it did in pics
  8. Crickets... give us some news Toyota!

I feel the same way. I will wait till I see one in person before passing final judgement.
  9. Crickets... give us some news Toyota!

Not sure if many have seen it already. The new Toyota 86 (FR-S Replacement) the new updated front seems to be a little inspired from the FT-1 http://jalopnik.com/the-scion-fr-s-is-now-the-toyota-86-like-it-should-have-1765447611
  10. Update (2/29/16): Toyota and BMW still keen to collaborate on sportscar

This leads me to believe that maybe the project started with the intention of building a Supra/Z4 successor. Maybe somewhere along the way plans changed and both agreed on making this project something bigger. Toyota now has a back up platform to use based on the LC 500. All they need is a new...
  11. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

It would be sad. The LC 500 is a good indication that this is also coming. Remember the LF-LC was a design study nothing else, but so is the FT 1 which caused the same reaction the LF-LC did.
  12. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

Only thing I can think of: both companies truely want to make something special. A revolution sports car for the next generation. Kind of like the what the NSX did back in the 90's to this class. Who's BMW top competitor? Lexus. So why not team up with them and make a sports car sharing the best...
  13. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

^ it would be a hit for BMW and Lexus. A daily super car for both Brands. And Toyota bringing back the Supra or a successor with full Toyota DNA. The NY auto show is in a few weeks. I really hope we see something.
  14. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

Came across this article from late last year. What if the rumors and news of this venture are true except the outcoming car is not a Z4 successor or Supra successor but an actual Super car to go up against the NSX, R8, 570s. And this being a Lexus / BMW vehicle instead coming out closer to 2020...
  15. Update (2/29/16): Toyota and BMW still keen to collaborate on sportscar

Well I'd assume this would be weight of the LC500 and possibly the Supra (Hybrid version). A non Hybrid Supra I can see coming in at 3200-3500 realistically.
  16. Update (2/29/16): Toyota and BMW still keen to collaborate on sportscar

I don't know about it coming in over 4000 lbs. + . The RC F is around that weight. This is a new chasis using lighter materials. I think it will come in at 3500-3700 lbs
  17. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

^ if this is what ends up coming out of the partnership I think both brands would definitely benefit from it. BMW needs a super car and a Lexus LFA successor would only elevate the brand even more. Agreed on $50-$60K being the price range of this car, though I would prefer a base model Supra...
  18. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

^ that can also be another possibility. Toyota needs to hurry and give us some official news and an updated concept SOON. For now I'm on the fence again hoping this is a full Toyota project, a Supra.
  19. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

I wouldn't mind that all. After coming back and reading the article again, it got me thinking. He does make some valid points. If we look at it this way as well, The LC500 was just introduced, and the hybrid version will be revealed at the Geneva auto show. What's next? the LC F. Aikio Toyoda...
  20. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

For arguments sake, lets say this so happens to be the case. What engine will Toyota be using for this? The same V8 in the RC F and LC500 or will it be the same engine being developed for the LC F? And so what will the outcome of the BMW and Toyota partnership be? The Z4 and SF-R?
