^ Reading that gave me shivers....though one can only speculate and everything he says I do really wish come out true. The fact that quotes have come out about the shared platform being a scaleable platform that can be used for 2 different cars + late interviews with Tada San seem to lean more...
you and the rest of us....Geneva is coming up in 2 weeks and we have seen the BMW test mule running around so I wouldn't be surprised BMW showing their concept of this there. And the NY auto show is a few weeks after that, I would think this is when Toyota will show the updated concept.
This seems to be the case. The LC 500 is coming next year as 2018 model. Chances are this is at least an additional year away which means a 2019 model released in 2018 some time.
^ I could be completely wrong but if one thing were to change drastically I would think it would be the front nose due to crash/safety restrictions. Just my guess on Toyota's recent design language. If it looks just like the FT-1 there would 0 complaints from me.
^ I agree. I think the led strip and nose will be replaced with an aggressive wide grill like a mix of the new Camry and SF-R concept. Not as big or high as Lexus grill though
Well the FRS will now come with the badge it should've had in the first place.
Hopefully it gets the GT86 name. By the time this happens I'm sure it will be the next generation of it that will be a Toyota.
I have no doubt this car is in the making behind the scenes. Whether it's identical or close to the FT-1 is yet to be seen. Especially after the press conference Aikio Toyoda gave when presenting the LC500. You can clearly see he is taking a different approach from recent years. Only down side...
I also came across this video uploaded today from the TAS auto show. Is it me or does that right tail light have amber turn signals? I though it was just the glare on the picture above but you can clearly see the right tail light has amber turn signals compared to the left tail light which is...
Yup I was hoping the LC was in dealers sometime this year. But it being pushed to next year as a 2018 model means this FT1 production will be out in 2018 as a 2019 production model at the earliest. We might get an updated concept this year to keep the buzz going but the car won't be available...
Yeah Toyota still has there presentation tomorrow and Aikio is in Detroit. So maybe introducing an official new concept is possible. But as far as production, seems like it will be coming in 2018 as a 2019 model at the earliest. Since the LC500 is coming out next year as a 2018 model. So looks...
^ that's what I'm afraid of, unless the LC reveal is meant for the 1st day to get headlines since it will be the production version. And Toyota show an updated FT-1/Supra concept the next day and officially announce it's going into production. Just showing the world how serious they are about...
Ran across this video today. Interview with Kevin Hunter on the future of design for Lexus and Toyota. Interesting enough at the 10:20+ mark, I wonder if this is a sneak peak of the interior of the Lexus LC/SC that will be revealed next Monday at the NAIAS
Waiting for the Detroit NAIAS 2016. Hopefully we see the updated version of what will be coming as well as more info on specs (based on the interview Tada San had at the Tokyo Auto Show a few months ago). The forum has been quiet but I guess it's cause all the topics have been covered and it's...
Offering both a hybrid and non hybrid will be their best solution. Offer a hybrid option with a DCT (for those who want all the new technology in a sports car) and a non hybrid with an option of a DCT or manual tranny for those who plan to modify the car to make more power. The car will probably...
It seems this upcoming car will be hybrid. Not to sure how I feel about it or how well it will work in the tuner scene. Hopefully they provide both a hybrid and non hybrid option. And a true manual 6 speed for the non hybrid.
