  1. Toyota S-FR concept

http://www.sfrforums.com/forums/showthread.php?1-Toyota-S-FR-Concept-Official-Preview! Heading up the Toyota lineup of debuts at the 2015 Tokyo auto show is the S-FR concept, which stands for Small, Front-Engine, Rear-Drive. Aimed at bolstering the company’s performance image, the...
  2. 40th anniversary for Toyota's Calty Design Research, Creators of the FT-1 Concept

Every article that comes out states that some decision was made according to 'inside sources' lol But I guess each phase in a project like this needs the ok to move on to the next phase since it is cost sensitive. But knowing a final decision is going to be made can only mean this thing is...
  3. 40th anniversary for Toyota's Calty Design Research, Creators of the FT-1 Concept

I see this as more positive news than negative. I'm sure what they mean by this, all Final presentations are going to be made to upper Management within Toyota and BMW presenting what the production vehicle could look like, the engine, the possible specs, what cars it will be competing with...
  4. Will FT-1 concept follow the FT-86 timeline?

Levi I hope this financial crash you are talking about does not happen at all but if it does hopefully it's not until after this car comes out though the signs of this bubble bursting should've been happened a while ago. Last thing we need is another FT-HS repeat.
  5. Will FT-1 concept follow the FT-86 timeline?

I think your worst case scenario is more realistic. There may be a chance we don't see anything else about this car if it's all based on the FT-1. The Lexus LF-LC debut was in 2012 and only up until a few weeks ago camouflage spy shots of a test mule have been floating around online. Everything...
  6. 40th anniversary for Toyota's Calty Design Research, Creators of the FT-1 Concept

If a hybrid varience is made I'm sure they'll make a non hybrid option as well (according to the latest rumors). I can see a group of buyers who will be happy with this new hybrid technology if the car comes close to 500 or more HP and find no need to modify the engine. DCT transmission option...
  7. BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept

Not sure if they have mentioned it but looks like this is built on an M4 platform. The FT-1 is built on an RC-F platform I believe.
  8. BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept

^ I agree, a lot if similarities. Still no signs of a new Z4 or Z5. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if this is what ends up coming out of the BMW/Toyota partnership. With a second concept debutting seems like this might get built as well.
  9. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

I hope things turn out as most of us expect. If all stays in line we should be seeing an FT-1 test mule running around sometime next year as well.
  10. The Rumor Thread - 2017 debut of the Supra and more details

Same here as well as keeping it a 2+2 seater.
  11. BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept

When I first saw the 3.0 Hommage concept it did resemble a lot of proportions that the FT-1 has. It would be nice if they actually decide to make this a production version of the Toyota/BMW project. Though based on previous rumors it will most likely be a Z4/Z5 that comes out of this but who's...
  12. The Rumor Thread - 2017 debut of the Supra and more details

I think this site has been reported to be unreliable in the past though there are a lot of interesting points. One thing I found weird is that the Toyota exterior was finalized in the third quarter of last year. If the car is not due for another 2-3 yrs, wouldn't the exterior have to be tested...
  13. 40th anniversary for Toyota's Calty Design Research, Creators of the FT-1 Concept

^ I hope we do, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't. The Lexus LF-LC concept is suppose to come into production next year as a 2017 SC. They did this concept in 2 different colors which was a design study. Similar things have been said about the FT-1 which was also brought out in 2 colors...
  14. What will the FT-1 be called? Supra trademark revived by Toyota!

^ I could see this possibly happening the first year but what will make sales for this car is a) what type of car Toyota gives us. B) what the cost of that car will be. Naming it Supra and giving us a car that cannot live up to the name is a bust, that can cost sales + brand reputation.
  15. Crickets... give us some news Toyota!

^ that could be true more for the older generation of hardcore Corvette lovers. But I think the new Corvette is aimed at a younger generation which could probably be more open minded once they actually see what comes out of Toyota who may cross shop or even trade in their corvette for one. It's...
  16. Toyota confirmed 3 sports car lineup: Toyota exec wants to bring back Celica, MR2

The Frs is suppose to get a refresh For the 2017 model. Rumors are a slight HP bump possibly 10-15 HP, nothing crazy.
  17. Mid-engined Honda sports car (mini NSX) to take on Supra?

Honda seems to be pretty serious about it's sports car image again. The S2000 was successful in it's day and if those sketches are truely what the successor will look like I can see this one being great as well.
  18. What will the FT-1 be called? Supra trademark revived by Toyota!

I think this may be used for the upcoming sub 86 (code name 69DZ) concept coming later this year to the Tokyo auto show. Also Toyota renewed the Supra trademark sometime last year after the FT-1 debut.
  19. BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept

^ I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if this is using the platform from the Toyota joint project 'Silk Rode'. Most of the Cars proportions do resemble the FT-1 a bit. If so, I wonder if Toyota will give us another concept before production model.
