Toyota introduced Dual VVTi (another name for Vanos) in the 3S-GE back in 1998 (BMW a year early in 1997).
It's been in every Toyota engine since 2005. You guys make it sound like Toyota only had the Supra (2JZ) and hasn't been in the car business since it stopped it's production.
From...
This is probably the one that was at the event Toyota made. The guy said it was gray, he might have meant silver :dunno:
Renders no matter how accurate never look good imo. Some lines weren't even visible through the camo and didn't even make it on the renders.
We also know almost everything...
This is gonna look so good in white. All the details and curves the camo was covering is insane. Renders really didn't do it justice. Honestly just the looks might make people overlook the specs lol.
Won't that restrict air flow to the radiator? It's probably one of the few functional vents on...
I hope it does go like the R35, thing went from 480 to 530 to 550 to 570 to 600 with the latest nismo.
BMW will probably be the last to adapt AA. I hope we get an aftermarket option as they're usually better in everyway.
I have a hard time believing this part or at least BMW half-assed it. 340/382 for the EU and US spec, respectively, doesn't sound like they went all out. Knowing Toyota and their non-economic car strategy, they actually do dump a ton of fuel for reliability over mileage/performance, mostly with...
So if we want the best MKV we should wait 'till the end of it's production cycle
Hopefully it would get a manual transmission & 400-500hp, what it should have had from launch.
I'd like to believe this is the serialized MKV he's talking about but he probably means it's the I6 not the lower spec I4.
I hope I'm wrong but those two sentences back to back makes me think only the I4 will get the manual transmission.
No Android Auto is kind of a deal breaker to me since we can't even swap out the display with an aftermarket one. More reason to stay away from the first year or two of the car to see what the aftermarket puts out. Hopefully Toyota/BMW come to their senses or maybe we get one of those new...
For a serialized car, $65K is very affordable and I'm not complaining but for that price it won't be as limited or "unobtanium" as you say unless Toyota wants to shoot itself in the foot. It's gonna be more of a Z06 to a Corvette, a GT350 to a Mustang, or even closer to home an RC-F to an RC...
Exactly my point. I know the "regular" MKV will be somewhere between 50-65k. But I'd rather get a new or a slightly used LC500 for a bit more.
The serialized MKV won't be cheap, I would say +85k at least. Which compared to the LC500 would be a steal. The LC-F will be the top of the line...
If PerformanceSound is happy with the MKV, I would be ecstatic! Great news to wake up to after the weekend.
This all makes sense now finally, my only concern is the price being a serialized car. It will come down to how much more the LC-F will cost over this in-house engineered MKV.
Sorry, my post was a bit confusing. I was talking about how only the people who put down a deposit from now are getting the I6 and everyone else will get the I4.
Looking at the mules, they most (if not all) seem to be the "340hp" I6 models. So making at least 47 mules for just 300-900 cars...
Highly unlikely. The first 300 will have some limited options, something like different wheels, interior colors and a numbered plate (xxx/300). Limiting the I6 to that low of a number might as well make it a collectable and extremely expensive. also we know at least 47 were made as mules which...
I'm gonna be an optimist and say that even though the VIN shows "US" I would say these are the euro spec cars because we know for a fact that the event in Spain had the euro spec version and it's a good bet that the 3-4 we saw there are part of the 47 cars in that website.
Worst case (and most...
