im in Asia, and they charged USD50 to do a basic tire plug. But it was a public holiday and they arrived within 30 mins, so I wasn’t complaining.
They have a full setup in the truck, and also do on site tire changes.
OP may have used some language, but a lot of guys jumped on him and still are. calling him entitled off the bat wasnt really required to make a point about the logistics situation.
he’s frustrated with his car not being fixed. for most of you who havent suffered bad warranty repairs, good for...
isn’t that one of the screws that secures the wheel well liner ? How could that have punctured the tire If it was still halfway in? (From your first set of pics)
glad you are safe. I once had a flat tire, didn’t notice it till I drove like 300m, and the sensors decided to do their job and alert...
i don’t know if they will push the update on all cars, if the car hasn’t reported an issue. With the brake safety recall, the dealers were already asking for 2 days to get it done, allegedly bricking some cars etc. I suspect if they can get away with not announcing this as a safety recall, and...
mine started doing this a couple of weeks after the safety recall update. I find it too much of a coincidence that it was fine for over a year, till the recall work was done.
My car is a 2019 mfg. And Toyota is now telling me it’s software related, not hardware. I’m surprised so few owners have...
im sure for hard tracking purposes, the oil makes sense. Maybe it’s really just about needing more time to get up to temp at that viscosity. if you use the Oem spec oil in winter, perhaps just wait till then to monitor any noticeable change in the noise.
I sold that car for different reasons, but overall the N52B25 engine had too many design issues.
think you prob should report it and see what they say. I’m guessing they’ll say it’s normal, but personally I would switch the oil and monitor if the noise goes away.
I sold the car.;)
Okok, so I did report it to bmw, but as usual, if they can’t observe it, they don’t fix it. And it happened so rarely, I just tried not to drive the car for too short distances, and the ticking hardly recurred. But if I had known that there is possible damage caused by this...
I used to have a ticking noise on the bmw N52 engine. Cold starts, particularly after the car hadn’t been started in a long time, or was not fully warmed up before it was shut down - then the ticking would happen on the next start up. Attributed to insufficient oil reaching the lifters. Went...
i installed the golden wrench supra gas cap cover, thinking what an awesome and fuss free mod it would be.
But the clearance to the fuel door is complete crap with the cover added, and the flap sprung open one day as I unlocked the car. Decided to trash it, cos risk of damaging the locking...
exactly as you both (collectively) point out, for out of pocket replacements, you can go the BMW route for parts. But for warranty stuff, as OP is facing , you’re out of luck and stuck with the dealer.
I find many owners say they might as well mod the ecu cos warranty claims are crap anyway.
I...
I never owned a Toyota before this car, but I imagine they manage parts supply better on the non Supra models. And prob more reliable than the Supra!
for the supra parts, they likely would have gotten away with the less than efficient system, if supply and logistics hadn’t suffered from Covid...
It’s understandable that some less frequently replaced parts are taking longer to source. But in general, the supra parts process puts us back even further. I was told that the parts are ordered via Japan, who in turn order from Germany. So you get this additional delay. (Not sure if the Toyota...
ive been waiting for replacement wiper arms to arrive at the dealer since mid 2021. I’m not in a hurry but yes, the entire dealer parts process for the supra is ridiculous. It’s faster to just go over to your nearest BMW stockist and get the z4 equivalent part. If they don’t have it in stock...
