I think we are not getting the launch edition as per the USA, however black and white cars in Canada do come with the red interior. So, perhaps its a sort of launch edition, just minus the autographed dashboard....I'm not sure if the cars have the other launch edition cosmetic features. All...
Agreed. Initially I thought red, but now I think I'd be happy with any color except black, or matte gray. The car just looks good, and any color that highlights it's curves looks great. If you want to replicate as close as possible the graphite colored FT-1, turbulence gray is the color.
But it's performance numbers, 0-60, qtr mile, do suggest those numbers. Certainly, 3.8s to 60, and 12.3 s qtr miles is not possible with 335 hp, 365lbft torque in a nearly 3400lb car. The HP/torque numbers C & D found do make sense with these performance figures though.
Car and Driver also...
Yeah, so what does the difference between Toyotas claimed 365 lb ft, and the dynos 427, mean? If the crankshaft HP is between 390-400, what would the torque be based on Toyotas claimed, and the dyno reading?
Look at the recent Car and Driver Dyno results posted here and get back to me. But, before that, these numbers aren't surprising, as the measured performance didn't add up, relative to it's claimed horsepower. Horsepower seems to be what matters to you.
The GTR went upscale, and look what...
This is unbelievable, and great news. If there truly is a 15% increase from wheel to crankshaft, a 400hp/500lbft torque engine is damn impressive. Should shut up (but won't) the naysayers who hold to the 335 hp is too low argument.
When the A80 came out it was about on or maybe slight above par with Corvette (for a couple of years), RX7, porche and a few others. 2019, it is about at par with Porche, there is no RX7 or other Japanese car in the same niche, and just slightly below a Corvette. So, it hasn't drifted very far...
It appears you have the money to buy a rare and expensive car that caters to privileged tastes, but the majority do not. I applaud Toyota for "breaking the wheel" a bit in making a high performance car that is attainable. The rich have enough choice in niche and unattainable items - we don't...
This guy is simplifying the issue because he apparently doesn't want to approve of the vents. Sure you may have to cut some metal on the underside of the hood, but the point is, you don't have to cut anything on the outside, where you might ruin the bodywork. Also, he ignores the obvious, that...
My sentiments exactly. I have no interest in a car I can't afford. A supra thats an NSX or GRT competitor - no interest. And I bet most others who are in line to buy one also wouldn't be if it was a $75-100,000 car. And, from Toyota's perspective, they would have another poor seller, like...
I saw the Supra in person at an autoshow, but it was roped off, so I couldn't sit in it. It was the Phantom Matte Grey, personally I didn't care for the matte finish. Today, I went to BMW to see the Z4, primarily to sit in it, to see if I would fit, having heard of the tight cockpit in the...
Thankfully I never had an MKIV, and wasn't into the Fast and Furious Movies or Gran Turismo game. I like BMW cars. It bothers me not one iota that the car is a collaboration with BMW. I feel bad for those that it really does, because they will be missing out on what appears to be an...
