The RealOEM diagrams proved to be largely accurate... though you still can't produce a road-worthy vehicle from the parts that have been listed. There are still major components (like brake calipers and rotors) that have yet to be catalogued.
Well the last time a Z4 reached global sales greater than 30K units was 2003. The last time a Supra did that was 1987.
Also the Z4 doesn't have a worldwide internet based hate campaign currently being waged against it either. So it's got that going for it.
You think so? I doubt it. I guarantee you when/if Toyota releases a MT version, most of those haters will just move on to the next item on their sh*t list. "Finally got a manual... it's about time! Now when are they gonna do something about those fake vents!"
I live in a state where it's mandatory, but if you know the unofficial rules, you'll never get stopped. If you drive a newer car that is clean, tastefully modified and not obnoxiously loud, you're good to go. If you're bouncing around in an old ass cut-spring Civic with a fart cannon out back...
One thing to keep in mind is that all car companies price models to be profitable globally but not necessarily regionally. So if they know one market is wiling to pay more, they'll raise the price there so they can subsidize the price in other markets where the brand/car is less popular.
Man, is there any sort of Page 2 or "fine print" to go with that? Because based on that language, you agreed to give the dealership $1,000 and they're promising you nothing. And giving themselves nearly a year to do it in.
I know, right? What have those Toyota engineers been doing for the last few years? Someone should check their time cards, because there's been serious mischarging going on. Everybody knows that they just sent a couple of sketches to BMW back in 2014 and said "Give us a call when it's ready."...
I don't know anything about the GRMN Supra, and have never claimed otherwise. You are the one claiming to have super seekrit insider knowledge. Yet all that you've really provided us with is "It's coming, and it will be badass." There's no information there to work with. It's not a personal jab...
I find the fixation on BMW part numbers sort of funny. It shows a lack of understanding of the modern manufacturing supply chain. No carmaker builds all of their own components. Third party OEM suppliers manufacture the parts, then affix them with the respective final assembler's logo, qr-code...
Toyota could have easily whittled down the Lexus 'New N' platform, slapped on some FT-1 design cues and left us with a high-wasted chunky V6 coupe and said "There you go boys..." Obviously that would remove the "re-badged BMW" criticisms but would do nothing to mitigate the spittle-flinging...
WIll it really though? Referencing the Vette again, they sold 40,689 in 2016, with 9,249 of those equipped with a manual. So the question is, how many of those 9,249 would have walked away entirely if the MT wasn't an option? All of them? Half? Let's say it's half. So if the Corvette was...
