I would spend $45k on b58 engine (3jz lol) Supra if the specs are what we are expecting.
At $60k, there will be the updated M2 with the detuned S55 from the M4, the highly discounted RCF, corvette, cayman, etc. I donāt think Iād spend $60k on the Supra based on what I think specs will be.
Three questions....
1. What are engine and transmission options? (Other specs would be nice, like weight)
2. When will it be available in US?
3. Whatās the pricing?
Bonus... any chance at a 2+2? (I think the answer is no, but just checking).
Lets just hope Toyota doesn't try to compete with Porsche in terms of profit margins...

Through all I've read lately, I didn't see anything that indicated only the 6cyl would make its way to the US. However, when trying to interpret certain posts here and elsewhere, I think there is a possibility that the 6cyl is DCT/AUTO only and that only the 4cyl would offer a manual. I hope I...
I agree that 2800 lbs is just too light for them to achieve (I hope I'm wrong) especially for the 6cy model. My 2008 S2000 weighs 2800 lbs, the Toyota 86 weighs 2800 lbs, a new 718 cayman is 2900+ lbs. Just about the only affordable production car that weighs less and is not an econobox, is...
I would hope the base model or ā248 hp turbo 4ā model starts well below $40k. The BMW 230 starts at $34k and I think it would be tough to sell a BMW powered Toyota with the same engine for considerably more.
Similarly the 240 starts about $46k and the M2 at $53k with the 6cy turbos. How is...
Iām curious to know who would opt for a 4cy manual over an auto 6cy if the manual only gets paired with the smaller engine???
Anyone want to start a new poll? Lol
Iāve test driven the RCF twice, it hides its weight rather well but itās still heavy. I like driving smaller cars and I just canāt get over how the RCF is longer than my old IS350 sedan and weighs 4-500 lbs more. But I agree with you, the RCF is beautiful, luxurious, and nearly perfect except...
Iāve been close to buying an RCF or M2 to replace my daily driver. I want them for different reasons; the RCF due to the na V8, Lexus luxury, and Lexus reliability; the M2 due to the nimbleness, lighter weight, smaller size, and manual tranny. In a perfect world, I would buy a Supra (all the...
We understand manuals are on their way out... but we still love them. I donāt fault the auto-DCT-PDK crowd, they are faster and more efficient in most situations, and way more convinient if you commute in traffic. And I donāt fault the manufacturers because they sell better and put better 0-60...
A70TTR, thanks for the recent posts...
I just wish this speculation and interpreting the subtext of others was over... I think I need to stay away until March 6.
With the rumors of no manual option on the new S2k, it wasn't going to sell well anyway, they should just remake the s2000 exactly how they left it in 09. My 08 is a keeper for sure.
Still waiting to see if the supra will the new car to add.
I agree with this and a lot of what was said here. Hopefully this leak is Toyota underwhelming us so when the real info comes out and itās a little better we will all feel good about it.
Letās remember too, if this gets basically the same engine thatās in the bmw 240 cars... you can add...
OK, a two-seater could have benefits, like being a smaller car with a lighter weight... its just not for me. I have an S2000 that I'm keeping forever and I could make due with putting the kiddo in the back of a 2+2, but if I had two two-seaters, I would barely get to drive them. :/
