  1. MKV Toyota Supra Dimensions & Specs leaked in Best Car Magazine

^Not true. A 9 year old Porsche 911 S with 385 stock hp can do 0-60 in 3.8. The rear engine and dual clutch transmission help but it’s definitely possible. BMWs own M2 can do 0-60 in 4.0 with 365 hp at 3500 lbs. Shave 3-500 lbs and I think 3.8 is possible. Possible does not mean...
  2. New rumors from C&D: 2020 Supra to get BMW inline six engine / B58 & S58 chat

I am now more educated, thank you. I wonder why all the M2 rumors say its getting the S55 then? I guess I'll take the B58, especially if Toyota blessed it or modified it to its standards.
  3. New rumors from C&D: 2020 Supra to get BMW inline six engine / B58 & S58 chat

Agree. Do we know if the Z will have the B58? I'm assuming it will but I'm not researched on the BMW.
  4. New rumors from C&D: 2020 Supra to get BMW inline six engine / B58 & S58 chat

With the M2 dropping the N55 for the S55 for 2019... Shouldn't the Supra get the M2 engine (S55 detuned from M4) over the B58 M240i engine? I vote for S55 - tuned roughly the same as the new M2 around 400hp. #3jz
  5. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

I'll take this blue one with the red seats please. Thank you!
  6. MKV Toyota Supra Dimensions & Specs leaked in Best Car Magazine

Its possible they are yanking our chains, but its also possible the car will be ~365 hp ~3000lbs and ~3.8 sec 0-60. I'll use 4 cars as examples... 1. My old 2006 IS350 was 3500lbs, 306 hp, and did 0-60 in 4.9. (Toyota gave us a pleasant surprise with this engine) 2. My old 2009 911 was...
  7. Toyota Supra Spied with Production Bumper, Side Vents and Wheels!

Think smaller, its says subcompact SUV. The LX is roughly Land Cruiser size. The GX is roughly sequoia size. The RX is roughly highlander size. The NX is roughly RAV4 size. This UX will be smaller like the new Toyota C-HR if I'm not mistaken. Toyota currently sells 6 different body styles...
  8. Toyota Supra Spied with Production Bumper, Side Vents and Wheels!

Agree, the 86 can be both an amazing car and lacking in power. The twins came out around the time I was selling my S2000 because a kid was on the way, the twins seemed like the perfect replacement... until I saw ā€˜only’ 200 hp. I am not a hp junkie, but that just seemed too low. If that car...
  9. Toyota Supra Interior Looking More Production in Latest Sighting

I think other threads have pointed to a more BMW type interior... I would prefer an RCF type interior, great seats, cooled/ventilated seats, a great mix of leather and alcantara, and with color options (I love the red-black balance of the RCF). I would prefer a back seat, even a tiny one...
  10. Why I'm NOT Hyped About The New Toyota Supra

Agree... I’ve always imagined why that great engine (now 12+ years old) didn’t make it into the twins or another lighter vehicle. I’ve been waiting a long time for Toyota/Lexus to update or replace that engine.
  11. Why I'm NOT Hyped About The New Toyota Supra

Quick comment about insurance on a Porsche 911... insurance on my 911 was cheaper than it would have been on any of the following cars: M4, M2, RCF, ISF, 370z, GT350, and S2000. Call around, Porsche insurance might be cheaper than a lot of less expensive cars.
  12. Why I'm NOT Hyped About The New Toyota Supra

^ Btw, my fun car went from 2006 S2000 to 2009 911 to 2008 S2000. The ultimate reason I sold the 911 (a great car) for another S2000 is the brilliance of that Honda 6-speed! Pure sex! I’d love for Toyota to give us a manual option.
  13. Why I'm NOT Hyped About The New Toyota Supra

Yikes. As a former 911 owner (997.2) and a current S2000 owner, I understand and appreciate power to weight ratios. 2009 911 base is 345 hp and ~3100 lbs 2008 S2000 is 240hp and ~2700 lbs Both quick/fast in their own right and both great cars to drive. The 911 was plenty fast with 345...
  14. Toyota Supra Spied with Production Bumper, Side Vents and Wheels!

No. I was just saying that we will all have to wait and see. And in the mean time it would be healthier for me to stay away from these forums. In a vacuum I have opinions on so much said here, but in reality I won’t be able to have a complete opinion until all the details are out. I...
  15. Toyota Supra Spied with Production Bumper, Side Vents and Wheels!

Wait and see... I need to stay away from these forums until then!
  16. Why I'm NOT Hyped About The New Toyota Supra

While I see @ginsuown point, one needs to take power, weight, balance, reliability, and everything into the equation. But there is no way Toyata can charge $67k for a car with the same performance as a Cayman S. Remember, many people would rather pay $100k for a 370hp 911 than pay $60k for...
  17. Why I'm NOT Hyped About The New Toyota Supra

Is there even a possibility of Toyota using this engine or a revised version of this engine?
