Is the A90 Supra going to built by Magna Steyr in Austria alongside the Z4, or be built in Japan? Iāve been hearing rumors that the new Supra might actually be built at a Toyota plant.:hmm:
That sounds impressive! I had the same thoughts at the start of their partnership with BMW. Why would Toyota spend so much on a sports car if they would just use a BMW engine, transmission, chassis, etc.? Makes no sense. Same case with the 86/BRZ, though it uses Subaruās 2.0-liter Boxer-4...
2016 Z4 sDrive28i will be replaced by the new 2020 Z4 30i, while the Z4 sDrive35is will be replaced by the new Z4 M40i. However, the Z4 sDrive35i, I think this will be replaced by the new Toyota Supra, so it could be priced more competitively. This makes sense to make the Supra more affordable...
Having a ābaseā and ātrackā trim with different tuning sounds good to me. One primarily for road use, and the other for track. Disregard the 4-cylinder and replace it with a naturally aspirated straight-6, if possible(To keep the tradition of Supras for having all inline-6 engines since 1978).
If this will be the price, I believe the 59.9k for the 6-cylinder will be the track trim, and it would be a tough sell unless it will have something special under the cards. Earlier rumors suggest that there will be a base trim with 6-cylinder on offer starting at 52k. That sounds just about...
I believe the strategy would be just like with the 86. Dealer lots donāt stock a lot. Itās usually on a per-prder-basis. Once you put down a reservation, itās non refundable(and you have to wait); unlike when you reserve for a Rav4, Corolla, or Camry, you can get your reservation back anytime...
Looks good to me. Reminds me of Italian sports cars like Lamborghini; plain, flat and sharp. Would love to see the aftermarket offer a bumper of this kind. :headbang:
Personally, I fell in love with the FT-1 concept mainly because of that long and deep nose. Iām a bit saddened they trimmed and...
So, aside from the MkV Supra, the rest of the models on the list are also Austrian made cars? I wonder how Austrian made cars will affect the pricing of the car...:hmm:
A simple aftermarket solution for sure. But what they will reveal officially will be the one that counts, for most. Something like... itāll be the original version, then whatever you modify, it will be according to your own taste. Well, no matter what, a Supra is a Supra; and Iām looking...
The real Supra should look more or less like these renderings. Love it more with the TOYOTA plaque spelled out. Looks a bit narrower from this angle; but the real car should be wider, as expected. Canāt wait! 16 more days to go!
Will it not include the TOYOTA label anymore on top of the Supra logo?
Seems to have been inspired by the Lexus LC500; the proportions, arrangement, and placing of logo and model name. What does that camera on top of the Lexus badge serve? Does the LC500 have rear view mirror with camera?
