This sounds like a good news. Toyota has already sold out initial allocation for the European market. People are actually buying the Supra, which I feel will convince Toyota to sell a manual Supra soon...

No Toyota on the list so far. I think the Z4 will be saved from this, by Toyota, Mostly are BMW luxury large cars. There’s no sports car from the list, only sedans, hybrids, and electric vehicles. I think the Supra and Z4 will hold their falue well.
Now I just wonder....if most of the parts of the Supra are made by BMW, then would maintaining the Supra be as expensive as maintaining a BMW? Or would it still be affordable like maintaining any other Toyotas out there?
Same goes with the 86. Are parts of the 86 shared with other Subaru...
Even the 1st-generation Honda NSX was in a different class(and more expensive) vs. the 4th-generation A80 Supra. The 2nd-generation used a different formula as compared to the original NSX, while the Supra, the new A90 still incorporated its tried and tested formula, just like previous generations.
Manual sales figures are dipping. Well, perhaps make it as an option so that enthusiasts will have a choice. If it’s an automatic affair only, then it would shy away a lot of enthusiasts(potential customers opting for a 3 pedal option). The car is already there. If this is truly an enthusiast...
Why is it that, when Toyota launched the 86 back in 2012, they could have brought in one with a manual transmission right away, considering this is also a partnership with another automaker. But now, with the Supra, it seems like they want to test the market first, like how the reception of the...
The racers never brought up about the need for manual. But of course, they are hired by Toyota GR to give good comments about the Supra. We have to hear honest reviews somewhere else.
I’m also thinking the same thing, if the engine of the Supra is just like a BMW Z4 engine bound for Europe with a particulate filter, or is it a different one? Because, say, Supra for US and Europe, seems like power figure is just the same. But with the case of the Z4, US will have 382hp while...
That’s what I was talking about. You can’t have the best of both worlds. With Toyota’s case, they’re going “reliability > performance”. BMW, on the other hand, is “performance > reliability”. In order to make the Supra reliable, Toyota has to sacrifice a portion of performance. Toyota did reduce...
Well, the firewall of the Supra(and Z4) already shows there are visible mounting points; just waiting for the actual application. If Toyota doesn’t intend to offer a manual, then the mounting points should have already been invisible at this point. And enthusiasts will most likely find ways to...
