This weekend was the last outing before she goes off to Whifbitz for a bit of a fettling.
Now it's going to get a little bit pic-heavy...
First thing sunday morning was a trip to Wilton House for The Wilton Wake Up - Post 1990s performance icons. It was pouring with rain in Somerset at 06:00...
Whifbitz :)
Going for deCAT downpipe, Akrapovic OPF delete mid pipe, joined up to the Akrapovic silencer. Will also be having an MST inlet for a little more noise etc.
Will leave it like that for awhile to see how the clutch copes with an extra 100ft/lb! ?
I was playing around setting my shortcuts on Sunday when I realised it wouldn't let me save the performance meter display to a shortcut button.
Anyone experienced this?
Are there any other screens that cannot be saved to a shortcut?
With a turbo, CAT & OPF in place most of the volume is already gone as they soak up so much energy. I'm currently running an Akrapovic silencer with the rest of the stock exhaust and there is very little difference over standard - a little bit deeper maybe, but that's it.
If you want to change...
Currently just the silencer/muffler - but going CATless/OPF removal soon.
With just the muffler you get a slightly deeper tone, not significantly louder.
My Akrapovic rattles briefly on startup... not worked out if its the valve or the sleeves yet.
The fact yours is doing it when hot has to be an expansion issue - check for length as well as clearance on height.
I think I'm just going to live with them TBH, if I ever do some bumper mods I may consider it at that point. They are so hard to spot that unless you're looking for them they don't stand out.
Cars & Coffee at a wet Vantage park this morning.
These pics mainly to show the holes left from the dealer plate fitment, (not too bad at all really - certainly no issue on a black car) and the offset plate.
It has to be said the stock setup does feel overly twitchy if the road surface isn't spot on.
Maybe it was designed like a 5th gen fighter plane: dynamically unstable to enable greater agility? :spaz:
I looked there when I was thinking about buying mine and noticed no sign of the manual.
Will dig out the V5 in a bit and double check how it's described...
