  1. Rock guards don’t help this spot…

? still getting road rash even after installing the ZL1 rock guards. Any idea what can help prevent this other than PPF? I’m not sure if PPF will help the appearance since it’s already been stoned badly ?. Would hate to see what it looks like at 20k miles, let alone 50k!
  2. Brake noise!

Drilled are nice looking and if you don’t push your car hard or track it a lot, they’re fine. But I had drilled rotors on the 718 Cayman I tracked and it’s the last time I’ll get drilled. They don’t offer any advantages and they start to get stress cracks after a few track days because of the...
  3. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Turns out the shop put in 0w-20 on my last oil change anyways instead of the 5w-30 Liqui moly lol. I’m just going to stick with the OEM spec 0w-20 and see how everything goes.
  4. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Yeah I did some searching after I posted the question and noticed a few people running 5w-30. Says it’s down 3/4 of a quart since oil change. Odd thing is it was at MAX at 2000 miles, and at 2350 it was down to 1/4 above the MIN mark. Lost 3/4 of a quart in 350 miles. As long as I don’t have...
  5. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I just read some opinions about the tight tolerances of this engine and how a 5w-30 oil can ruin the tight tolerances, and I am now left wondering if using a 5w-30 instead of the spec 0w-20 would be harmful or if it wouldn't make any difference at all in under 2000 miles? I started seeing...
  6. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Just an update. Another 100 miles driven today and another 1/4 quart burned. Went down another notch. Now I am concerned ugh. This is great.
  7. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

FWIW I’ve never cleaned my tail pipes in the last 2200 miles and they look like this. Just recently started seeing more black soot buildup. I assume this is normal? What do yours look like?
  8. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

This is not helping my pessimism lol I had the RROD on my first Xbox 360. I don’t think the low oil level light would cause damage but low oil pressure certainly would. Good point about a secondary oil level light though. I won’t be the one to find that out, that’s for sure. IF it ever drops...
  9. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

This is promising. Thank you. Unfortunately I am a pessimist so when I saw the drop I immediately thought I was doomed ☹ Trying hard to change that way of thinking... I will not worry about it and just enjoy the car as it is. Because it is awesome.
  10. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Well guess what guys… my engine oil level dropped down to the middle. Used to read full. Now I’m concerned I might have the issue. Anyone else’s drop to the halfway point and stay? I’m at 2200 miles.
  11. Official TURBULENCE GRAY Supra Club Thread

Thanks! Advan A052 75/40-18 squared on Apex EC-7R wheels on Swift lowering springs. I need a little more negative camber up front for better turn-in. SPL LCA's on their way.
  12. Official TURBULENCE GRAY Supra Club Thread

First addition to this thread for me with some crappy iPhone photos.
  13. What did you do to your Supra today?

Detailed and waxed my car, then tossed on my track wheels and tires and go for a cruise on a perfect night. Please disregard average photo quality, shots were taken with an iPhone with no planning whatsoever lol.
  14. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I got my break-in oil changed at 750 miles and switched to 5w-30 Liqui Moly. The car is now at 2000 miles and I will check the oil level later today. Hopefully no issues because it seems most issues occur around the 2000-3000 mile mark. I’ve been following this thread and seen people having...
  15. BMW m2cs vs Toyota Supra (2021)

No way! Guess you like to experience different cars as well. I had a 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman (base model) that I traded in for my Supra during the peak as well. The 718 was a joy to drive, very confidence inspiring and great on smaller, tighter tracks and roads. Not sure how you felt about the...
  16. Interior door panel defect/quality issue

I had something similar happen but nothing peeled off, instead the rain made what looked like stains and drip marks. Could be some kind of glaze put on, either by the dealer or from factory, to make it look clean and shiny but it isn't supposed to be durable or permenant solution. I believe...
  17. B58 Reliability when pushed

Good call. I was looking into the APR front splitter and Verus rear diffuser as a combo.
  18. BMW m2cs vs Toyota Supra (2021)

Supra over regular M2, sure. Supra over M2 CS? Tough call. The CS is special. However, it looks like the M2 CS goes for the same price as a used 981 GT4, and I would 100% get the Porsche 981 GT4 over the M2 CS any day.
  19. B58 Reliability when pushed

Great info. Cool to learn that people track their Supras and push them hard without any issues. Usually forums are just full of problems and woes so its refressing to log on here and see a few posts stating they track theirs hard. I thought my 8-10 track days a year was a lot... to see people...
  20. Rear unstable under heavy braking

Awesome so you mean it wasn’t shot but just loose? I wonder how it even got loose. Just finished a day on the track in the rain at Waterford Hills today. Was quite the experience with Pilot Super Sports in standing water…
