  1. B58 Reliability when pushed

I’m baffled by the 2021’s oil consumption issue. Reading the manual, it states it will consume oil depending on driving habits and it then lists things that can make it consume oil. Also states to check it and top it off if necessary. Strange that they make it sound like a normal thing, but I’ve...
  2. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Just to stay updated: checked again today
  3. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

Thanks @zrk and @Axix23. I didn’t see the screenshot until now. Wow yeah that is serious. I’m going to be super mindful about this from now on. I, too, don’t mess around when it comes to brake issues. Hope they release this ECU update fix soon. Do you think the ECU update will also update the...
  4. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

If the brake booster is fried will it trigger a code? How noticeable is the issue? I assume it would trigger an error code and be noticeable. At least I’d hope. I have never pushed the start button twice when starting, but may have had a “light” pedal press when starting.
  5. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Checked it after my drive to work this morning and it went back to max… I give up. Whatever. Time to just enjoy the car and if I have to fill it up with oil, I will!
  6. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Guess I’m not out of the woods yet. Though it was all going well after my last oil change. 1500 miles later and I get this. Dropped to halfway.
  7. Aftermarket Hood

Here you go. Noticed a little bit of rubber markings higher up than I first expected. Must’ve happened during the 80mph on ramp entrance I made last week ? Area circled in red is where initial rubbing occurred and area between lighter red marking is faint rubber I just noticed. This is on the...
  8. Aftermarket Hood

Sure. It's extremely minor and I already touched it up. Can only see it when the hood is open. Will post after work.
  9. Who has highest mileage? / Supra miles

3500 miles in about a month. Bought it in June of this year. It will be my Spring/Summer/Autumn daily and track car. Happy to see others driving theirs a ton per year! It’s definitely a car meant to be enjoyed by driving it. Only issue so far is losing 3/4 quart of oil between my first and...
  10. Lowering and Suspension Geometry

Interesting observations. Only negative I have noticed was some rattling from improper installation of my springs. I have only tracked mine once on lowering springs (Swift) and it was in the rain without a proper alignment done yet, so I can't say if any of that is true. I will be installing...
  11. Speed Industry

Avoid them. I ordered a product but cancelled it 20 minutes later because I found a different part, but they still charged me and it took about a month to get a refund, and I only got a refund because I had to open a dispute with PayPal to get my money back.
  12. 2021 Toyota Supra jb4 map5 log cause issue.

How did your turbo blow? JB4?
  13. 2021 Toyota Supra jb4 map5 log cause issue.

Not to keep hopes up, but they might and yes you’re 100% right, it is worth a shot to ask. I had a Unitronic Tune on my 2017 Audi S3 that my independent shop said was the cause for the detonation, cylinder wash down, and scoring. They bought the blown up engine from me to help cover the cost of...
  14. Toyota Presents World Debut of the New 2022 GR 86

This car looks like it could be a killer deal for a decently quick, fun, and inexpensive track toy with plenty of room for mods. I’m actually really interested in this…
  15. Aftermarket Hood

So I just discovered that my tires have indeed burned through the clear coat and paint on my hood/fender (funny how they’re the same) since I’m running lowering springs and wide tire set up. I’m going to be adding more camber soon via some SPL control arms but still, I am a bit bummed about it...
  16. 2021 Toyota Supra jb4 map5 log cause issue.

I’m wondering what actually caused it. Is 22 psi too high for this turbo or do you think the wastegate got stuck and that’s what fried it? I know plenty of others run map 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 fine without blowing up their turbo. Sorry to hear it happened to you.
  17. 2021 Oil Consumption data collection

Also likely yes Build date 4/21 2600 miles No consumption until I hit 2200 miles. Changed break in oil at 750 miles. Continued to run OEM spec 0w-20. Hit 2200 miles and it goes from MAX to halfway. Hit 2400 miles and it goes to 1/4 above MIN. Then did another oil change since I did drive it on...
  18. Rock guards don’t help this spot…

Since it’s already imperfect, I might as well wait longer to repaint it if I do decide to go that route. Never heard of that brand, I’ll look into it!
  19. Rock guards don’t help this spot…

Set up is not stock, which is probably why this area is getting blasted even with the rock guards. I am running a 12mm spacer up front so I can run 275/40-18 tires on my 18" wheels. The guards do help for sure, as other areas would get blasted but this particular area is the part just in front...
  20. Rock guards don’t help this spot…

Thanks, Guess that’ll go on my lot do list!
