RE: brake pad alternatives -- KNS has a full assortment from usual suspects https://knsbrakes.com/products/car/116274_2022+Toyota+Supra+3.0L/4_Race+Brake+Pads
Damn, was hoping these would be a lot better than AR1 in the rain. I got a set in the sizes I needed from Tire Rack but I need to kill these AR1 first.
The aftermarket is fine with all of the general bases covered but not as expansive as some other platforms. Very little shop support these days, though; mostly tribal knowledge which is where people tend to struggle. That and a lot of misconception and misinformation... The sweet spot is a...
ahem...
Owned, 5x
Get this - I sold my last one at an astronomical profit. So much so that it covered the cost of the car, the multiple builds and all of the racing over the years and then some.
You and most everyone else... ?
Terribly underappreciated and generally misunderstood platform, but the epitome of peak 90's excess. I've owned a bunch of them but that one in particular was my swan song -- black/black '99 VR-4.
Reread the sentence before that and take a moment to process it. It's a 30 year old platform so of course its going to have its idiosyncrasies like all cars of that period. It's still a fantastic car to drive, even in stock form. A pleasure I've had the fortune of owning/experiencing and...
I've owned 5 MKIV, 2 autos and 3 6sp from stock to 1200HP. I wouldn't consider a stock 6sp anything close to 'less than fun'. Quite the contrary as It's a fantastic car, especially in the context of the period. They are not fast by today's standards and the suspension (especially 97+) is...
Yes, but according to the site all of available sizes from that container have been updated and the 325s still show out of stock. I'm guessing they're in the next container but I guess I could just call. I don't need them urgently since I ordered a back up set of AR-1 from them recently. BTW...
Damn, got my hopes up! Running AR-1 now in those sizes but want to give the CR-S v2 a whirl. Phil's has a container coming late Sept with "long awaited sizes" so hoping that's the 325.
Ahh... Then they don't have the man-sized 19s listed yet which is what threw me off. Looks like they may be available October'ish based on Phil's latest update.
Did you ever measure the AR-1? They seem to run a bit narrow compared to the ECF.
Also RE: CRS v2 specs -- ostensibly a typo but they show the section width is narrower than the tread width for all of the 325s. :dunno:
That was already a thing for the '23s, they just continued it forward. You also used to get the equivalent of $5000 in GM rewards points for holding it for at least 6 months. That was eliminated for '24 which was the only change from the prior year. The combination of the two still wasn't...
Yeah, single day events are the worst since Hagerty is the same price 1-3 days. Best bang for the buck if you do at least 6+ track days a year is an annual policy with Open Track. Especially if you have multiple cars and drivers.
Bizarre.. I had two wheel setups and my car never cared if it was over the expected pressure, just if it was too far below expected or below 24. For both I did have the tire selection set to manual and 'other tire'. After that you go to tire settings and perform reset. If you have tire...
