The Z4 just looks so "coherent", the wheel arch looks so right with the dimensions, the hip of the car also looks so right
The profile looks great
The Supra is not bad, but the overhangs look a big off... the wheel base may be a bit short. I feel that had they made it 2+2 with a short back...
Sports cars and practicality doesnt go hand to hand
Putting roof racks on coupes improves ability to carry luggage but comprise weight and other things.
Proper Gran Turismo cars like the GTR, Aston Martin, Lexus LC, Mercedes S63, Porsche 911 4S, Ferrari 699 etc are all "comfortable"...
So what is the concensus among US and European buyers? Is the spec OK for the pricing??
Over here I'm not really surprise.. We knew most of the things already but the one thing I'm surprise with is the torque difference between this and the Z4 M40i
Price wise here in Oz it's going to be M2...
Supra has taken the Mustang and European way... having various engine sizes and performance
I personally think they should've went Turbo or NA like the Mark IV method.....
yeah in Australia ADR requires a certain height (from ground) where the license plate goes on, well last time I checked (5 years ago) it did anyways.
The only way I can see it, there will be a small garnish that goes under the nose and connects to the lower grille as well to secure the licence...
yeah this is normal, as Chief Engineers do the talking with each other and NOT the engineers themselves
The Supra is being made on the SAME line as the Z4.... Toyota Engineers will be travelling to the factory during pilot builds and would have seen BMW production engineers and maybe even...
what I heard is that Toyota is already putting forward their own inclusions for the 2021 Refresh facelift, mechanical wise I dont see BMW allowing them to slot or modify the assembly line in Austria to make the Supra model better so...
perhaps this is for the "Gazoo" or special edition for the...
make the wheels smaller, those wheels on the render looks like they're 20 inches
then jack up the ride height by an inch
fix the crappy error on the rear bumper wing and bumper itself....
then thats what the Supra will look like... basically as the camo car
yup
In Australia, GTR R34 were common, heck I miss my GTR R32 which I sold back in 2011, the price went up too.... I want to buy another one but the demand from US/Canada has bumped the price up considerably. Supra were common too back in the mid 2000s upto 2010... now all trashed, the rare...
I can confirm a lot of experienced Toyota engineers, japanese at that, work for Lexus now... they even eat at the same cafeteria in Toyota City.
So they are only "separate entities" for marketing purposes ONLY.... so Lexus buyers dont get that "Expensive Camry" image when shopping for cars...
yeah nah I agree with him on most of his points about the BMW Supra... but he just seems like he considers Lexus a few tiers below European cars when if you compare them Lexus quality and prestige exceeds European cars in the same tier or price point... performance numbers sure, European wins...
He got a lot of good points except that he sounded anti Japanese...
Maketing wise sure Lexus doesn't have the prestige of Jaguar... But quality wise I can assure you Lexus has over taken Jaguar a while ago and it's just European reputation these days... In 10 to 20 years time Lexus should have...
Good peak
The 3 engine option is very interesting.
So its very similar to Ford's approach with the Mustang
So the 4.0i will have the RZ badge
Someone in the parts catalogue system department may lose his or her job though
That's a huge leak of not intended
earliest they would or could introduce a manual is facelift, assuming they have an approved but shelved manual ready to go.
But I have my doubts, Japan's market is drawn to automatics these days, the "racing" versions of cars are kept manual usually, the four cylinder sporty cars are also left...
That was the intention of the 86 though, it was economic practical sporty car, it felt special enough for me when I used to own it and drive it, the sitting position was fantastic, the driver's view was on point, the fuel economy was good, although the cabin felt cheap, but you can justify it by...
Yeah personally, I feel that Toyota should use an existing engine in their arsenal, Lexus has a very capable V6... or a V8.... or even the 1.8t from the IS250T.... surely they can comeup with a 3.5 liter Twin Turbo version or tune the V6 to crank 250kw and 350Nm
