Honest and concise review. I feel like in the age of Youtube and social media, people think every new car is better when in reality driving is very personal. What one person likes and dislikes about a vehicle, another person might look at it differently.
My local shop owner was telling me about quality control issues with Clutch Masters on the A90 a few months ago. Keep us posted on how you like it after install. Are you Stage 2 full bolt ons E50/E85 for the 550whp?
Automatic is the same as Manual transmission meaning they are both made by ZF. The only difference is clutch, pressure plate and of course gearing ratios (how long each gear is). I'll be watching this thread for what people say because I would like to end up around the 680-750HP range as well...
Facts. No regrets, but I had never driven a MKV Supra prior to buying my 2023 6MT and I wish I had driven more cars to compare it against such as the G87 M2, Nissan Z, etc. Purely for peace of mind. MKV is extremely fun, but I'll never know if I would have gone for the G87 had I test driven it.
True. Build and adjust as you go. If you start pushing power and notice the clutch can't handle it, then you adjust and replace. A part of me was also wondering what aftermarket clutch options there even are put there for the A90. I had heard of Clutchmasters, but the owner of the shop I go to...
I'm trying to plan accordingly here for my next mod. Debating between unlocking the ECU or upgrading the clutch before increasing power. My goal is to stay under 750HP and just have fun there. Does anyone know any good aftermarket clutch options for Stage 2 or Stage 3 on our Supra manuals?
I only opted for the 6MT because this is my fun weekend car. It's extremely engaging and fun to drive. I look for excuses to run errands and take it out of the garage. Had it been my daily driver I'm not sure I would have been one of the manual buyers of 2023. And yes, the manual does encourage...
I live 20 minutes from Trabuco Canyon. I might make a drive out there sometime this weekend and check out the conditions. I know that shooting just took place at Cook's Corner which ironically is right there. I'm open to ride anywhere.
Feels cliche, but I still respect the 2jz. If I had a choice of any 90's JDM cars though, I'd go NSX over MKIV. I remember being a kid seeing them around town saying to myself, "One day if I'm ever able to or rich, I want to own an NSX".
