Only thing they screwed up in the mkiv was the Targa top.. car drove like crap with the top off. That would be the last straw in screwing this thing up. Lol
Iād hope they have something unique about it.. but in the name of cost cutting and some arcticles did mention they share suspension components.. Iād almost bet against these two cars being much different from each other besides the sheet metal. Besides.. Toyota would never admit at this early...
Yeah.. all the engineering from Toyota was design the body panels. Lol. Maybe .. hey can you give me a bit of a different suspension so I can claim to have something different. Interior looks like a slightly altered bmw interior. Pathetic.
When Toyota says they worked on the 86 project.. Iām...
Lol, you are asking for too much. Youāll get TSS from Toyota. The rest will be a bimmer. If you want reliability, tunability and quality just go buy yourself a GTR now. Aftermarket for that car is very mature and you can even go deep into the 9s trapping high 140s with the stock bottom end. This...
Logical.. I donāt see the Supra getting any more powerful than 400hp. If they can keep the weight down and give this powerplant itāll be perfect for those who donāt mind the dct.
That would be perfect but as we know.. everyone else make fun cars but Toyota never followed that.. they stick to washing machines, sewing machines, toasters and refrigerators. Then theyāll try to work with GE to make a sporty oven and called it āSupraā
Well.. why make nonsense if your hands are tied? If Toyota has as a company set out to respond to an ask from the market then do it right or donāt do it at all. Half ass attempts only result in failure.
Who here thinks ford, Chevy, Nissan doesnāt turn a profit from selling sports cars?
His statement about it being too torquey was the most absurd thing Iāve heard from some one highly regarded. Sorta takes away his credibility.. does he even live in the same time. Take a look at the market..
707 Hp hellcat
755 hp ZR1
645 hp Viper
650 Hp Camaro ZL1
650 hp Z06
520 hp GT350...
Ford just confirmed a 700 plus HP GT500 with a manual transmission. What on earth is Tada talking about that itāll (new Supra) be too torquey for a manual. Stupid statements like this make the new Supra sound silly and have no faith in whatās about to come.
Iām perfectly fine with a BMW powerplant.. 3000 to 3400lb car with somewhere in the 400-450hp, give me a Toyota specific interior and a manual transmission. Never been a big fan of bmw interiors and accompanying that with not having a manual really shoots it down for me.
As much as Toyota...
Yeah.. I donāt know any better than the next guy.. but a bird in hand vs two in the bush concept.. hoping Toyota to make something worthwhile given their track record in recent years the chances are slim. Iām sure if you are in this thread means you are hoping for a manual and itās now all but...
Buy something else.. lol instead of trading my mustang GT for a Supra I just traded up to a Shelby GT350 two days ago. This car is not worth waiting for..
Just bought a GT350.. 8200 rev limit.. adjustable dampers, active exhaust, flat plane crank, 526hp, recaros ... oh here is the kicker.. a manual transmission with this much power and it doesnāt feel bad. Lol sorry Toyota.. let me know when you have a real transmission and May consider the BMW...
