  1. Test drove a C6 Z06

What is the weight difference between the two?
  2. Trunk Adhesive Under Molding Coming Out

Isn't it still under warranty? I would think that the best person to fix it would be the Toyota-certified auto body repair shop. I'm sure shops like that do this all the time.
  3. Trunk Adhesive Under Molding Coming Out

Wouldn't Toyota be applying this adhesive? I used to use 3M 847 Nitrile High Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive on my catch can manifold gaskets. In over 10 years, I've never had any debonding issues. The key to a lasting bond is to clean the bonding surface very well.
  4. Anyone see any orange 45th anniversary Supras on the road?

I agree. I have inquired to dealerships that supposedly had an unreserved Supra, only to be told that it was, in fact, reserved by someone. I have decided that the 45th edition colors are not for me. The good news is that the longer I wait, the more SSI I will receive. The downside is that the...
  5. Request or Wait for a MY2024

Be prepared to get low-balled if you trade in your Mustang. I have one of my cars for sale and due to the high interested rates (especially for vehicles older than 2019), buyers are not exactly banging down the door. The Kelley Blue book value is what dealerships would LOVE to pay, whether as a...
  6. Anyone see any orange 45th anniversary Supras on the road?

    Thanks for the update, WDK!
  7. Nissan Z vs Toyota Supra

I saw this video. It seems the Nismo Z is much improved over the regular Z. Of course, the cost is higher but still not higher than the 45th anniversary Supra. The testers complain about the lack of manual transmission but I wonder what percentage of buyers would buy each type.
  8. Test drove a C6 Z06

I know what you mean. I had a 2001 C5 Z51 for 13 years since new and got tired of spending money on it. I sold it with 52,000 on it. The passenger window motor was getting louder and the AC motor was starting to whine. This is partially why I am not getting a C8. The Supra certainly is smaller...
  9. Test drove a C6 Z06

    C6 Z06: Price: $70,000 Engine: 7-liter V8, naturally-aspirated, petrol Transmission: 6-speed manual Horsepower: 505 hp Torque: 470 lb-ft 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph): 4.2 seconds Top speed: 199 mph (320 km/h) Curb weight: 1437 kg (3168 lbs) My neighbor used to have a C6 Z06. After turning off the...
  10. Soundtrack for the Supra (For a laugh)

    Congrats!
  11. Soundtrack for the Supra (For a laugh)

    I chose this one:
  12. State Referee

Gavin will keep jacking up gas prices, which are $6/gallon at this time, to "convince us" to buy an EV. The Supra gets decent gas mileage - a big plus.
  13. Break-In Period Driving Habits

That's good to know, thanks. But I think I'll buy new and break it in according to the owner's manual. That being said, I must also mention that I bought my 08 MX5 when it was 4 years old. At its current 66,000 miles of use, it is still running well.
  14. Anyone see any orange 45th anniversary Supras on the road?

I haven't seen any, either, but if you look at Toyota's Supra tracker, the white 45th anniversary ones are all reserved, whereas the majority of orange ones are not. I'd be interested if they were metallic orange ( like the Evora GT orange). Some show a multi-thousand dollar markup; others do...
  15. Break-In Period Driving Habits

Good thoughts. I would think that serious track car owners don't also daily drive/commute with) them and rack up over 100,000 miles during ownership. So some issues that tend to occur later, may not be evident with much lower miles are on the odometer. I read somewhere that track miles should...
  16. Break-In Period Driving Habits

I was thinking the same way. I learned a long time ago that lifting weights to your max on a consistent basis is risky behavior. In fact, pushing anything to its max all the time is bound to shorten its life.
  17. Break-In Period Driving Habits

    I've read through 80% of these posts.......my takeaway: DON'T BUY A USED SUPRA! :D
  18. Anyone see any orange 45th anniversary Supras on the road?

It looks like this is not a preferred color, since dealerships seem to have them without buyers (not pending). The whites look like they are being taken before or shortly after delivery.
  19. Just moved to SoCal, Any supra friends?

I always found it easier to focus on the job, not the company. Sure it'd be great to work for company whose products are in tune with your hobbles, but learning new technologies can make you a more versatile engineer in the long run.
